I'd say half of his stuff is really funny while the other half is just annoying and misses the mark . He can just do no wrong with his little cult following but his ego has gone to his head.

He's pretty funny, some of the stuff he's done is arguably still some of the funniest stuff around. Keep in mind though his best stuff always involves other people writing, editing, directing, being involved in various ways. When just talking off the top of his head though I'd say he's way less funny than Nick.

I agree with this, some of the stuff Sammy seems to get up to is pretty fucking weird. I wouldn't be surprised if it all turns out to be true too. Plus when you watch some of his newer stuff on his gumroad he often gets so far up his own ass unironically, whatever talent he possessed before seems to be pretty much entirely gone now

MDE had some good stuff (Smocaine, Ideas Man, College Cunts). World Peace had some decent sketches, but the series as a whole was essentially Jam for politcally illiterate edgefaggots. The outwardly Yas Forums-bait stuff (the majority of Sam's work) is abject garbage.

Here's the thing the Ted talk was like baseline MDE funny. It's what I think of when I have to come up with a solid all around good piece of MDE work. It pales in comparison to some of Sam's funniest stuff though. An Inconvenient Anime has moments where I was almost dying. Stuff like Williamsburg Street Fashion and MDE WHYPZ: New Bedford Street Heat are absolute fucking classics that I've rewatched dozens of times.

Some of Sam's solo cam work like Bowl Cut Cult, Gamer Dude, Yellow Yam Scam, and Goobas show that even on his own; at his best Sam is a powerhouse of comedy. However he's definitely at his best when he has Charls and Nick to bounce off of.

But anyone who tries to argue he's not funny is just flat out wrong. The last couple years have definitely marred his legacy though. Post-MDE Nu-Sam is insanely unfunny and he's surrounded himself with literal whos that have no comedic talent or wit.

He is unironically one of the most influential internet comedians of the 2010s and has definitely had a marked impact on internet subcultures. After MDE got cancelled though he went completely off the deep end.

Everyone has already said what I think. World Peace was interesting but mostly unfunny. They were better as a team and Sam hasn't been very funny at all since they split. He was very funny though.
