>I bypassed the character development
I bypassed the character development
>THIS is a 10/10 Aryan specimen according to white people
she's cute
You wouldn't scrape your dick raw against those teeth? Then you're a Cuck
>wait a minute. that's not the compressor... THAT'S THE BREAK PEDAL
I’m not going to stick around and argue with you guys, but Rey is introduced with a lot of wordless characterization. She’s a talented scrapper with abandonment issues who fears growing old alone and forgotten. She holds on to stories about heroes she doesn’t even know if she believes to keep her going. The first eight or so minutes of Rey’s screen time are dedicated to showing this
This flat big mouthed freak will be forgotten in five years just like greta thunberg. That is if the feminist jewlywood doesn't try desperately to prop her up by doing sjw movies for a while or something. Maybe a metoo nonsense in six months or something.
Are you really so triggered by Greta? She’s a young girl who does talks about conservationism, she’ll stick around for a bit then either move or on develop a career in it, so what? Why does this encourage some impotent spite in you?
>why didn't you just program the compressor synapses to bypass collectively?
You're either blaming me for something you actually do, or are honestly confusing spite with an honest assessment with how certain people use flavor-of-the-month people for agendas. Daisy Ridley I am openly hostile to because she put her name on a bad product and sold it. Greta I don't hate or have spite for. She's a mentally underdeveloped poor unfortunate being used as a puppet, and she will be discarded when those moving her can't get any use for her. That I feel sorry for. "I bypassed the compressor" bitch I want run over by a truck for having bad character the same way someone sells you a bad used car that breaks down the moment you get it off the lot.
>She’s a young girl who does talks about conservationism
>conservationism
I don't think that word means what you think it means
>flying around in a spaceship. Literally the most dangerous mode of trasportation a human can take apart from helicopters
>lol, I remove part so it go now
Crazy bitch could have killed them all
The way you associate the two, call them freaks and other base insults, and then write angry daydreams about them failing in the future, is totally neurotic. Seeing Rey and thinking of Greta, then limping them together as people who should be punished for ‘mistreating your media’ or whatever, has got to be the dumbest alt-right train of thought ever
She knew what she was doing
Thats just how JJ and Lindelof make things. Its awful and sad that they keep getting more work
>watched rise of skywalker last night
>literally can’t remember what happened
Reminder that she Force-pursuaded a stormtrooper in her very first movie
I think you’re so butthurt by an autistic girl that you cant read properly. Conservation, no conservatism. Retard.
Women don't know anything
He was brainwashed in the first place anyways, and why not? It reminded me of many realistic moments from my own life and others’ where the solution is so right that the first time you try it, it surprisingly works.
Then after that she just becomes a hero with close to zero challenges. Everyone loves her, she's super smart, she can use the force natively. You can't have character development for the first few minutes of a movie then leave it
Illiterate fool. Honestly you should be embarrassed
How
>Conservation, no conservatism. Retard.
^that's my point going eight over your head, midwit. She doesn't do, or encourage any conservation at all, she cheerleads a doomsday cult. Conservation implies using, but also preserving a natural resource.
>Honestly you should be embarrassed
Why?
>grows up in poverty alone on a desert planet scavenging and so on
>gets a chance to leave the planet and takes it
>somehow gets tangled up in the "resistance" plot
>from this point on she has no personality whatsoever and simply follows whatever the resistance people are doing
Bear in mind this is the first time EVER she left the planet and didn't live in a sand dump eating scraps and struggling to survive.
You'd think she'd show some interest in the larger galactic society or different planets or, hell, even different people. But nope, never once voices any of that or even seems surprised by new environments.
She grew up in the ruins of a fleet as a scrapper who scavenged rare parts from imperial wrecks, and maintained and repaired her own skiff
Yes and no. She has a lot of wins, but I think you’re blind to the fact that she’s a scared coward who flees when Finn does and is dominated and captured by Kylo. She’s delusional about her parents coming to rescue her, she’s irritable and easily offended. Kylo is also greatly characterized as causing most of his own problems, Rey’s victories against him are equally caused by his own insecurity and her quick learning. You’re right she piles on hero moments as the movie goes on, but she does have a well-characterized intro from squalor and a lowest point with the meeting at Maz’ castle and her capture.
Because conservationism is the belief in conserving the environment, and you thought I had said conservativism
Rey is a character designed to be liked instead of a character that's good.
Sure, she gets those 5 minutes of silence at the beginning but it honestly feels like Abrams and Kasdan waving their dicks and congratulating themselves cause they're so proud of their own creation. And then she opens her mouth to berate some guy that does the same job she's doing, but her moral code is Batman-tier so the other guy is immediately supposed to be scum in our eyes.
The rest of the movie(s) is just them validating their own creation by giving her all the toys that belonged to the old crew. Here's the Falcon, the lightsaber, Han approves of her mere minutes after meeting her, Leia just straight up hugs her even though they never met, even Snoke is all like "Damn Kylo, I gotta meet this bitch". The only person who isn'+t instantly infatuated with her is Luke, although even he knows there's something super-special about her, but the whole TLJ is dedicated to telling us how far from grace he has fallen.
When she leaves Jakku, she thinks she’s only taking a quick detour before going back, believing she needs to return to wait for her parents on Jakku until Maz encourages her to seek her destiny elsewhere, which she rejects and flees into the woods where she is dominated by Kylo. She only develops a relationship with the resistance after Han and Finn meet her to rescue her during her escape. After that she literally just sticks with Finn while escaping, until she sees Kylo kill Han and she again tries to flee, until Kylo encounters her in the snowy woods.
In TFA she never allies with the resistance until she is escaping the base
>Because conservationism is the belief in conserving the environment,
that isn't what Greta is about
>and you thought I had said conservativism
no
>her mora code is Batman tier so the other guy is immediately supposed to be scum in our eyes
Not at all. Rey is literally irritable and difficult to work with. She gives Han shit for giving her a weapon and berates Finn while trying to save her, amongst other things. It can seem like the movie is delusional to her imperfections, maybe if you think a girl who lashes out is ‘getting away with it’ unless she’s soon verbally put down, but she really is there being a bitch in a scrappy ‘I’m not properly socialized’ type of way.
Greta’s main talking point is conservationism, and she criticizes the right wing through that.
Anyways the main point is that anyone who sees Rey and somehow gets angry about Greta, especially enough to try and wish them away with guesses about their future, is some type of neurotic who believes their sense of politics and aesthetic are being accosted by little girls
You know Luke did and acted the same way, right? Every criticism you make over the sequels are legit copies from the OT.
TFA is a good movie and literally all your complaints involve forgetting what’s in the movie, and taking Star Wars as some type of religion you’re declaring heresies in what is literally a pulp space fantasy
TLJ was also a great movie and nearly perfect as a Star Wars movie, it’s certainly the Evangelion of Star Wars.
>Greta’s main talking point is conservationism,
No, retard, you're wrong. You don't know what that word means, maybe go look it up instead of making the same incorrect statement over and over.
>anyone who sees Rey and somehow gets angry about Greta
that isn't me, fucktard.
this made my dicky tingle somehow
>Rey is literally irritable and difficult to work with
Everybody works fine with her. "Don't hold my hand" shit was just Abrams shitty way of trying to get identity politics bucks, but after she and Finn destroy those TIE fighters they almost burst into song on how great they worked together.
Also this has nothing to do with her being a girl. If she was a boy, she would also be a shit character. Yes, she does does things with Han and Finn, but it doesn't really affect that they're still totally into her. Sure, she has some minor flaws, but the characters don't treat them like that. Luke gives shit to Han and gets the "float home" line. Jar-Jar is annoying and for that characters roll their eyes, not offer him jobs. To make another comparison with Batman, he's a character that spent a good chunk of 00s in his coimics being a cunty paranoid lunatic coming up with ways to spy or kill his friends and allies and barely no one every called him a faggot for that. Characters can have flaws, but it's a moot point if the writers portray them as virtues in the eyes of other characters.
The whole TFA I could practically feel Abrams' elbow hitting me in the ribs while whispering "Great, right?"
You understand that she's been involved with the interworkings of hunks of junk since she was a toddler right?
Didn’t say it was you, I specifically used conditional language. So what’s your epic point about Greta then? Or are you so spiteful you just get pissy without explaining yourself at the mention of Greta? Tell me how this little girl is hurting you so bad that it’s offensive when people downplay how bad she is to you?
You’re totally wrong about people not calling Batman crazy. It’s been canon for decades that he’s mentally ill.
Han offers her a job because she’s a skilled mechanic from scrapping, and because he has a troubled relationship with his own son
So Han just likes offering random people jobs?
Nobody would have had a problem with this if she'd worked on the Falcon before but admitted to never flying it.
In TFA Han is trying to relive his past after trauma from his son by recovering the Falcon and building a small crew, hiring a girl who had piloted it and assisted in an important repair
Oh and Rey is a desocialized person who lashes out at those who try to help her, because she doesn’t believe help exists. She’s a little feral in that regard, acts like an abused person who doesn’t trust people
She’s knowledgeable enough of the ship to say it’s trash, and she has a life of scavenging and repairing ships behind her. A scene or another line may have helped, but it seems likely she worked on the Falcon and her opinion of it indicates that
>Why yes, being an infallible, omniscient, omnipotent Mary Sue is a-ok when my BBC self-insert does it, but pink or orange FEMOIDS? Yikes, this is where I draw the line
Rey is a Sue, but you incels are still in dire need of sex
obsessed cope
Man, it's not about you or me calling Batman crazy. It's that by any logic every person in his vicinity should've told him to go fuck himself decades ago. At best we get Alfred going on paid leave once in a while. He collects tons of Kryptonite in his basement, but Superman is still friends with him. Contingency, sure. He has no contingencies to stop any of his villains. Every time Joker goes on a kill spree Batman is caught with his pants down scrambling for toilet paper before going to stop the pasty fag, but if maybe Aquaman ever gets out of line he has special chewing gum... The entire Denny O'Neill tenure as editor was about Batman being a cunt, but everybody was propping it up as a virtue. Yes, the writers write Batman as crazy, but only cause they mistake that for depth and most of them are hacks. Writing a character badly and then saying it's great.
This is all off-topic. I love Batman, but a lot of the time reading his comics was a pain in the ass. Like they took Frank Miller's DKR completely missed the point and doubled-down.
Built for BBC *wink*
The st protagonists would have been good characters, but instead they went with the muh chosen one trope, and forgot finn and poe.
Rey Pme
Rey starts the movie delusional and desocialized, and uses her mechanic skills as a scrapper to escape a stormtrooper assault and pilot the Falcon until it’s captured by Han, who completes the voyage to the resistance and offers her work as crew for being proficient with the ship. She slowly learns to accept people can be benevolent, with a fall from grace when she discovers Finn’s lie, and completed fully when she realizes Finn had come to rescue her. Her story is one of accepting there is real good in the galaxy, and the patience extended to her by the rest of the cast is given because she’s an effective worker whose problems manage not to get in the way.
Prime Minister Emperor?
This
this would be nice if it actually happened in the movie
nice headcanon though
truly amazing how progressive the writing is, when your female protag just yoinks all the famous males' character traits
/thread
It literally did lmao
And if you hadn’t gone in so skeptical, spent so long rereading the same dull complaints on this board, and didn’t likely see it on camrip having already believed you mastered the script from reading a green text earlier, you might have been able to see that
