I mean I could easily see those things happening to some unlucky drug users, but it is pretty highly unlikely that like every person in this group of people has some horrific fate like that. I'm from the opiate and meth capital of America in West Virginia and you definitely hear about nasty stuff all the time, but the majority of people just use their drugs and go on about their lives without much trouble.

It's literally called Requiem for a Dream. It's about a few people with nothing who dream of having something, but they all have addictions which destroy their dreams. It is anti-drug, but really it's saying that you will never accomplish your dreams if you allow distractions.

my brother is a heroin and coke addict, he's been on a really bad run these past couple months injecting them multiple times a day. he showed me his arms and they are fucking horrifying. black scabs running up and down all over both of his arms. he said he went to the hospital and he doesn't have any infections or anything, but idk if i can even believe him. he might lose both arms... they look that bad.

This movie goes to the extreme for all 4 but the moms story was completely not her fault. She tried to warn the doctor about the effects but he refused to listen or care about her and just pushed her through. If he payed any kind of attention to her in that office visit she would have been taken off those meds immediately. She is the only one that I have any sympathy for, especially since her son was such a dick.
The other 3 deserved everything they got, as unrealistic as it was.
