What he Feds doing isn't supposed to be trickle down economics. They're applying monetary policy to prevent liquidity issues (i.e. to cushion any possible runs of the banks), which would really fuck the economy. The "trickle down" policy you're talking about is called fiscal policy, which Congress is responsible for. Fed already upped monetary, but Congress needs the fiscal to get moving. The tricky part is that if you just frop$1k into people's bank accounts, they won't spend it unless absolutely necessary until the pandemic is over. Instead,they'll hoard it. That's why even though trickle down economics doesn't work particularly well, it still works better than just throwing money directly at people. Businesses are forward-looking and will invest money into assets at firesale prices, because that's what businesses do.
