It ramps up and up with every episode. Every episode is more exciting than the last. It starts off very slow and builds to bigger and bigger challenges and horror.

It's pretty good for zombie schlock, but I think they should've ended it with 2 seasons. The story was neatly wrapped up and the teaser for season 3 feels like it's jumping the shark

More than anything, what I really didn't like about this season is how one second the crown prince is making tough decisions and even ruthless ones (like in the first season where he killed that captain himself) but then just leaves his enemies alive to challenge him again. Cho-Hak Ju should've been assasinated on the spot after he got bitten

She wanted to rule through her son, she gets no satisfaction over her fake son ruling without her.
Well we're obviously supposed to find his selfless abdication noble, but in reality if he's so cool then him ruling should be the best outcome unless he is certain that people would be opposed to him and rise in revolt causing more war.
They could have revealed the truth about what she did but instead they wanted to suppress everything related to the outbreak.

I'm guessing he's going to end up as the ruler anyway after the kid goes zombie in S3. I assume they didn't want to push the queen's plot to the public because the evidence they had could've been claimed to be forgeries since he has plenty of loyalists himself

This seems like very unlikely to me that nobody would be upset with a boy king in a time of such a huge crisis and the hero who had been leading the fight apparently dead.

Also the mother is alive and never (presumably) can be a real mom to her son and her being alive also leaves the possibility of somebody one day finding out and given their political structure, the whole kingdom falls apart at that point faster than a zombie plague could have

If you liked this I strongly recommend Jumong and Kingdom of the Winds. It's basically the exact same thing, but remove the zombies/plagues and put a way better plot. Also over 100 episodes total.
