how come the Chinese invariably fail at everything they do?
How come the Chinese invariably fail at everything they do?
the coronavirus seems to be doing pretty well
Man that movie was fucking stupid.
I don't know why it got such positive review.
They want to put too much patriotism in their blockbusters. Therefore their movies lack emotion and viewers cannot relate to characters. Failure is not accepted unless honorably sacrificed. Characters are just numbers, just like the individual in their society.
it's neither more stupid or more patriotic than your average hollywood blockbuster from the 90ies or 00s. it's basically dumb roland emmerich-tier disaster schlock with everybody yelling in mandarin except in english.
It was way stupider. There was no logical sense to the plan to move the earth. It just would not have worked.
am i the only cunt who thought this was a comfy movie? the western character was insufferable though but i guess that was intended
as opposed to "jeff goldblum hacks an alien spacefleet with his macbook"? nobody actually cares about the "logic" of blockbusters except a tiny group of internet autists, it does not impact their success at all.
chinks are mentally deficient down syndrome mongolian rape babies
Using a planet as a spacecraft is a neat idea at a glance, but if you actually think about it for more than 2 seconds it's a terrible terrible idea.
Theoretically the Goldblum plan COULD have worked. I mean, okay it's pretty improbable - but not outright IMPOSSIBLE.
Stopping the rotation of the Earth and flying it to a new solar system while staying alive (somehow?) just is not a possible scenario.
There's literally a Communist artistic doctrine to make stuff everybody can understand. Russians got an out because high art was an established point of pride for Russians, but that meant Takovsky-level heaviness. If you look at the "best" recent Chinese cinema, it's cinema for children, it has good photography but no complexity. Even the "art films" move one step at a time.
they probably manufactured the device used to post this.
little sister was cute
>patriotic movies cannot be good, emotionally gripping, or overlong
Sounds like you lack The Right Stuff (plus pretty much every Russian movie about WWII).
Killing everyone with iq above the average does wonders.
>If you look at the "best" recent Chinese cinema, it's cinema for children, it has good photography but no complexity.
How is that any different from Hollywood?
I think it's because they don't have souls.
That was from two Izzy propagandists hooked into Hollywood and this was from a fucking certified physicist who studied physics at university so yeah this is a much bigger writing problem, one is standard Hollywood laziness and the other is Heney Ford telling you to put diesel in a gas engine.
I hate Hollywood but expect more from overseas (however, there has been some good stuff recently out of Hollywood).
it's literally the same thing in practice: experts have figured out how to do [thing that we want to happen for dramatic reasons] thanks to [science word]. nobody who likes independence day likes it because they paused that scene, had a long think, and decided that an alien civilization independently developing an operating system that's accidentally entirely compatible with macOS 8 is merely astronomically improbable and therefore an acceptable plot point. they like it because they don't care. and it's pointless to cater to the people who care because they suffer from a basic dysfunction that will prevent them from enjoying anything anyway.
>how come the Chinese invariably fail at everything they do?
Wandering Earth was better than any Disney flick.
normal people watch a movie to watch a movie, not to execute an imaginary performance assessment of the science advisor
Watch chinese tv dramas instead
>comfy
opnion discarded
It's a physicist who obviously knows no physics, from a culture of cheating, and the guy repeatedly insisted with explanations and details that planetary vehicles were possible. Suspension of disbelief ain't free.
>nobody talks about the relative hardness (scientific accuracy) of sci-fi
Only you can be this wrong, this is like one third of all sci-fi fandom discussion.
best sci fi flick from the 10s tbqh
I'm with this guy on this one
The entire premise of stopping the Earths rotation would cause CATASTROPHIC earthquakes, volcano's, tidal waves, etc. Then moving through interstellar space the planet would freeze rock solid, all gases turning to ice, molten core solidifying. And how the fuck would they survive that? Fuel the motors? Eat?
It was just a completely retarded premise. I can't suspend disbelief to the point that I buy it no matter how much I want to.
It's not. That's why Hollywood is also shit.
the premise were actually plausible: scientists agree there's much better chances of humanity surviving humanity by moving the whole planet than trying to find and terraform another one. they tried both alternatives in the movie, too
Television & Film
it was a popular movie?
i liked this movie and liked the books it was based off. who cares if it is "actually possible" or not. its fucking scifi. star trek and 90% of the trash scifi we put out is no more realistic than this. hardly any modern scifi is "hard scifi" these days. and at the end of the day no faggot on Yas Forums has the credentials to claim its "not possible" when its such a ludicrous idea that we have no frame of reference for.
they put all the humans deep underground, they had hundreds of giant ass fusion engines going 24/7, they had all sorts of fictional technology we are no where close to producing so, within the story, its plausible that they had technology to deal with all these problems that would arise from moving the planet.
keep in mind star trek has teleporters, replicators, and wormhole alien prophet/god creatures. this film was much more reasonable.
dude sci-fi is shot for science FICTION
This, I haven't seen any of these in a while, so it was a bit of a welcome change in the sea of try-hard cringe capeshit. Last schlock disaster movie from the Hollywood I've seen was Battleship and it was worse than this. And I still liked them both.
>Stopping the rotation of the Earth and flying it to a new solar system while staying alive (somehow?) just is not a possible scenario.
It theoretically is with enough energy available, you are just a coping brainlet, just like 95% of people that always try to look for realism in shitty Sci-Fi disaster movies instead of enjoying them for what they are. The remaining 5% are autistic, but, unlike you, not actually fucking stupid.
>dominating every single industry in the world
>fail
The americope is strong
>scientists agree
You don't understand how knowledge works.
They are emulating Hollywood. Of course it's shit. On the other hand, their animation is improving though.
One day you will read Lucifer's Hammer, which is compelling because it is all but real.
Independence Day is retarded because Aliens probably wouldn't code in binary, save that it's readily established that they do when Goldblum realizes that they're using and interfacing with Earth's tech to communicate. After that he just creates a trojan that should disable the shield relay. It's a stupid fucking thing, but the movie establishes itself indirectly and sets itself up.
Wandering Earth is just a clusterfuck where the sun ages 10 billion years in 40 years and threatens to consume the earth, so the solution is to build massive thrusters that run on whatever-the-fuckium fuel to blast it out of the solar system. Along the way they manage to fuck up basic gravitational physics and have to blow up Jupiter's atmosphere to eject the earth away to start a 2500 year journey that would be impossible to survive. At no point does any of this plot work or make sense.
i searched torrents and see theres eng dubbed one, should i watch that one or look for chinese with subs?
>t.
Seems like they're doing alright.
Freedom of speech and some liberal views creates creative people and ideas.
The only creative ideas they develope are thigs like face recognition, because the regime demands it and the people get creative to prevent being sent to the gulag... i mean correctioncam.... i mean training fascility!
Capitalism is the main stimulus for creativity.
>it's neither more stupid or more patriotic than your average hollywood blockbuster from the 90ies or 00s
Imagine being this retarded
If this movie was made in Hollywood then China shills would call it jingoistic neocon propaganda.
Get some self awareness, chinks and chink allies.
If China is so great why are their per capita GDP so much worse than even Taiwan?
They have lots of poor people who work for very cheap, which is what helps them capture the manufacturing industry and become export masters. But on the other hand, if China was to ever have a large middle class or even offer better wages and health and safety conditions to workers than companies will probably move to Africa and China will get fucked.
>They own your entertainment industry.
>They are making Hollywood-teir films.
>They are dominating the cinema market.
God, how can anyone even compete?
>Hollywood tier
Yeah Hollywood sucks so not very impressive.
>implying the heart of The Right Stuff is in its patriotism and not the Icarus tragedy of Chuck Yeager
Look at this fucking pleb.
>China will get fucked
Firstly, China basically owns Africa now. But also the Chinese have their own companies now that are operating at a global level, so they don't actually need to work in Western factories anymore. They can just work in Chinese ones once the West moves to a poorer nation.
>putting your hand over the hot claypot to pick up the food
>not using a ladle and a bowl
felt like propaganda times 10
Competition and needs are.
And i put "want to know more" or "solve the puzzle" as competition, because everyone wants to do it to win over others.
Seeing statistics like this, i always wonder how you determine points and value to get to this.
And why china or america likes to r&D in europe and buy start-up from other countries.
Like Corona virus medicine. Why cant america nor china make one but need a german company to develope a cure?
America, China, Germany, Israel, Japan. They're all trying to make a vaccine atm.
