Maeve is a mediocre actress in a terrible character.

I actually forgot about this show which is wild because I was super into season 1.. season 2 was just such an abomination my brain deleted the whole package. Could have been great.

Going by the absolute lack of advertisement for this season HBO's most likely trying to cut losses and cancel it right after the season ends.
So essentially theyre gonna retcon / never reference season 2 to try and salvage the show but ultimately get canned by the time they set a new story line

Why bother watching this, honestly?

The only good character on the show was Hopkins' and I doubt he will be back again this season. They even contrived to make Ed Harris' character unlikeable, not in a bad guy kind of way but in how poorly written and cringeworthy the character is

I remember last season there was negress executive who was actually Dolores and they showed her naked but in the dark so we don't see anything and it made me laugh. How the mighty have fallen.

why was season 1 so good while season 2 was so bad?

That episode is what I wanted from this show, something to give me Lost vibes again. The only other episode that managed to do it was where james delos repeats the same interview over and over again. Aside from that the show has been mostly disappointing, S2 finale was a catastrophe

It wasn't, they were similar quality. S2 also had the best two episodes of the show so far and the james delos episode, although the season finale sucked ass and was literally a 1/10 episode

only the first couple episodes were actually good, it spectacularly set up the intrigue and the rest of the season was just you being roped in to figure out wtf was going on.

this is the last good thing HBO has, Outsider apparently did very well but that was a one and done, Westworld is currently the only bread and butter they have left

This season we will find out that everyone, absolutely every single person on planet earth is a host. And they were hosts since the first second of the show. This will lead into hosts civil war in season 4 by the end of which we'll find out that the events of previous 3 seasons were actually a recreation of the real 22nd century and that the present year in the show is 26xx something (as in 4 recreations (for the number of seasons) each 100 years) because robots have nothing else to do other than searh for perfected timeline where they are all band together or some preachy message like that.

It's just so lame. Like, when it started I thought it was something about creating people as a form of artistic expression. There was Ford the artist and Sizemore the corporate hack and they had a powerful contrast. That was new and exciting.
