Tried watching one of his nostalgia videos because he gets memed so much and I really don't get how he ever became so popular.

You can literally get anyone to learn how to edit videos in half a day and it would still look a hundred times better than anything the Nostalgia Critic has edited. They're lazily made and even his jokes are shit. People may have found him funny years ago but that's only because he used clips from films and tv shows instead of actually coming up with anything.

In 2011-ish his videos were shorter and used more clips from the actual movie rather than the dumb skits. The skits are more or less a result of needing to keep black man and woman used under contract as well as Youtube being stricter about copyright and wanting longer videos for the algorithm

Loved his older stuff, his newer content isn't awful but isn't what it used to be. The skits can actually be funny. I think when he has a lot of freedom & can't show clips from the movie he's reviewing (like IT) are when the skits shine. But most of the time they're just a bit mediocre. Funniest parts are when he's making actual jokes about the movie.
His stuff is hit or miss for me. Some videos are enjoyable others are pretty dull. His jokes can be very dry and it doesn't help when he keeps running jokes throughout one video.
gonna have to see what this guy is like just out of curiosity but he screams fag.
