It was not that bad

it's pretty fucking bad

>the android made the aliens twist
it wasnt that bad
it was a lot worse than that bad

Nah, its bad, its really bad.

I watched this for the first time a couple days ago. It was HORRIBLE. It was even worse than I thought it could be

Unironically the 3rd best Alien movie. Whats really bad is the image you used in your op

it fucking sucked, the only positive was good cinematography and score

I liked how kenny powers was one of the last ones. All i can remember from it tho.

Even the cinematography was dull, everything in it looked dull, grey and uninspired.

I watched both Prometheus and Alien Covenant in theaters and didn't really enjoy either that much

>Alien3>Aliens>Alien
you sure 3rd?

Yeah.

Attached: kath.jpg (800x1200, 275.86K)

i felt like it gave it a dreary mood but there's no way i'm gonna argue anything in this movie's favour

Creepy mad scientist movie. It was better than Prometheus at least. Ridley Scott REALLY wants androids to be evil.

It fucking sucked.
Wasn't as bad as Prometheus, but it sure as hell wasn't good.

I really like it. We just don't get movies like this often enough.

I liked the movie's pessimism. There's not enough directors who are ballsy enough to have bad endings where the villain wins.

That's photography / production design / color grading you're talking about, not cinematography. And you're still wrong, the movie looks fantastic. Easily one of the best shot films of 2017.

Alien 3 is barely above Prometheus and Covenant, and that's only because it's simply a remake of the first one

>Easily one of the best shot films of 2017.
how? after the landing every shot is inside

I fucking hated every character in this movie, everyone acted like a complete retard. And solely for the plot sake aliens were could grow full size without any food around in few hours.

That's both false and I don't know what it has to do with good cinematography.

>cinematography is pretty landscapes

then explain how its good for me I'm dumb and want to like good movies

the aliens existed before him, he just did his own thing with them - the mural proves that

Attached: Alien Feels 2.png (1198x844, 1.58M)

Whenever I see anons shitting on Covenant and Prometheus, I just assume they're zoomers.

based ridley scott warning us if the doom that AI will bring to humanity. his kino will be studied in the future, after AI has turned the earth into a giant McDonald's and killed off 90% of us.

>Alien Franchise
>now literally B-movie slasher with shitty looking special effects

it was THAT bad

I really like it, it is genuinely horrific in its atmosphere.

Better than Prometheus

>I'll do the fingering

Michael Fassbender was good in it, but I really didn't like his story at all.

It's weird, she was great and I cared about her fate.

Shaw was boring and it was a relief to have her killed off.

official Alien™ order
Alien>Aliens>covenant>Prometheus> the rest
i youf don't agree you have no taste
check em' and don't @ at me

>there are people who don't know that Walter is the protagonist

It's okay, but it's filler. It sets up a potentially interesting sequel.

Should've gone for the OG plan with Shaw and David visiting the engineer homeworld, but Ridley wasn't allowed to work on a direct sequel, and this was the only option he got to continue the David storyline.

I did

>Engineer shit
yuck

That was what killed the planned trilogy.

It was pretty fucking bad. The few scenes that were actually interesting were ripped off from Paradise Lost.

too high-IQ for you and your ilk, so covenant had to be friday the 13th: xenomorph edition

>ancient aliens
>too high iq
lol no wonder you don't get why it bombed

I like how they took couples to start a population colony, and included a couple of homos... What are they expected to do? adopt the kid of some other couple and abuse it?

judging by how extensive their cargo was, people in sleep pods and the embryos i don't think it would matter much if two dudes who worked security couldn't make a baby, they were there to protect on company orders so in a way they were better suited to their job since something like having a baby wouldn't get in the way of offering security to the colonists

No doubt, but the idea of putting a sterile couple to work security is braindead

Yeah, I get that... why bother making them a couple in the first place? just makes them less efficient (not to mention they're gross fags, but if Alien is all about male rape, maybe that makes sense in a weird way)

there's fucking androids, I'm sure they can create a baby from their dna and have a woman deliver it

Right, because one would obviously want to have such a complicated procedure on an interstellar colonising expedition? Thanks for showing there is in fact no point in taking a couple of fags along

Why do you assume it's complicated? They have robotic surgical machines in Prometheus

for me, it was kino

maybe they were the best picks in every other section of people who were willing to leave their home planet behind for a new life and still fill that security role as well as any other skills they could bring with them - we don't really know much about many of the crew members beyond their main roles and even then it's hazy when it comes to some members of the crew. likely everyone has skills across a wide range of fields but finding people who want to start over 100% and never possibly see anyone from another planet in their lifetime might not be as large a selection pool as to exclude gays.

correct

that user is a tiny brain

Why even send humans instead of synthetics?

>adopt the kid of some other couple and abuse it?
holy mother of based

Do you need a picture as to why it's a whole lot more complicated than just a man and a woman having intercourse in the natural way? No argument is really needed here, the presence of the homo couple is moronic

Prometheus was the last film I saw at the cinema. It killed my love of watching films on the big screen.

waffle, why take a couple? the whole bloody point, as they insisted in that little prequel video thing, was taking couples for colonisation... Given as homos are genetic dead-ends, it's obviously not a brilliant plan in their case

That's how they reproduce, user... Worse than Xenomorphs, desu

couples can work better together over the long haul, they may even use their sperm to inseminate other women on the trip. nothing is probably out of the questions, they may even have breeding programs setup to ensure genetic diversity once they land. a gay couple could still add to the population in some way. it's such a minor thing with 3k+ people and embryos in cargo. maybe the weyland company even used them to promote diversity on the recruitment side and put on a good face for the media to increase recruitment or funding from other sources. the small hit of having two dudes like each other on a trip of three thousand might be outweighted by the net gains in other areas. areas beyond even that mission alone.

Those homos were part of the cargo ship crew, they were not part of the actual colony mission. They just had permission to join the colony when the trip reached its destination.

Nah, it looked boring as fuck. It's generic "lotsa money" kind of shots. Meanwhile, movies like The Holy Mountain and El Topo actually have good camera work.

>big screen
That's why you should do like me, get a proper 7.1 sound system, and a minimum of 65' TV, connected to a 2080Ti with 9900KS, and downloading the good stuff and watching at 120Hz (120FPS) with SVP Pro.

Basically, a lot of time and effort for very little outcome -none of which is remotely explained in the film of course (I never doubted it was possible to make up some bullshit argument to account for it, just like any other film bollocks)... In summation, therefore, the epitome of forced diversity. I rest my case.

also: cuples work better over the long haul?
kek, ever heard of homo couples? they're so degenerate they have their own definition of fidelity...

Yeah, but everybody in the crew was in fact a normal couple...
and then there was a duo of fags, good for nothing really

Got a 65" tv but undecided what to do for sound. We have a funny shaped living room so the tv isn't central.

It's the worst Alien movie to date.
Except if you include AVP-R.

I thought it was a great film.

I'd say resurrection was the worst.

Always love these collages, especially as the average poster here has probably read one of the books at most...

weyland corp just wanted 2 less gays in their part of the universe

This is so much fucking cringe

Based

Pessimism is for the weak.

sorry i was trying to appeal to the anti-gay Yas Forums crowd - how simple of me

Worst after Prometheus
