Adam Driver is a beast of an actor. I really enjoyed him in Marriage Story.

Nu-Star Wars had its moments. I actually wanted them to follow through with Rian's direction of the story.

You don't understand just how much of a blight fancels have been on these movies. Every bad move made by Disney has been in direct response to their venom. Whether to appease them or to try to make them go away, nothing they did could silence their autistic screeching. It is nothing short of a miracle that the movies turned out as well as they did, all things considered.

You should watch a documentary called The People vs George Lucas.
It goes into detail how the fans hijacked the franchise.

I’ve just accepted for years now that Star Wars will never be as perfect as ANH and ESB. It’s been hit or miss since then and I just take the good with the bad. It’s amazing to me that the franchise is still held to a standard set 40+ years ago and has yet to surpass it.

I wouldn't say Kylo/Ben is the best of the franchise, but the sequel trilogy, definitely.

If Disney had really wanted to do something different, they should have focused on Kylo from the beginning, his journey, his struggle with the dark, contrast it with Anakin, only he's already on the dark, before he comes back to the light to do what Vader couldn't in regards to Palpatine and truly accept his name as a Skywalker.

There that fixes pretty much the entirety of the sequel trilogy by just focusing primarily on Kylo instead and his ultimate journey, redemption, and contrasting poetry with Anakin and Luke's hero's journeys.

I wouldn't call that too different. It's really just the same arc as Vader only it would have only happened on generic green planets with barely any non-humans and all the aliens would be scrotum monsters because it's the sequel trilogy

That was my point though, part of Kylo's journey is that he would never be Vader, but you have to contrast that with, he's not Vader, he's Anakin. He suffers from the same tilt towards the Dark Side, but you take things a different route. Anakin was a good character who let his emotions get the better of him. Kylo's story is more along the lines of Vader on Mustafar, despite that anger, that rage, that fear, he was still crying after the Separatist Ordeal, he deep down didn't want any of it, but at that point it was too late. Kylo's journey is that continued, that struggle. That's what you right about despite the similarities and how it contrasts with Anakin/Vader's journey. That while they are similar, they're also fundamentally different. Vader succumbed, Kylo fought back in some ways, and Luke never fell despite some tendencies towards it.

Jedi lore is virtually non-existent, Sith lore is completely thrown out the window (other than a cool Sith society existing), and the lightsaber fights are as dull as ever, the best bit is Kylo schooling the Knights of Ren, which is immediately followed up by two lightsabers > force lightning. So all Mace had to do, was have two lightsabers and Palpatine would have exploded.

Its dumb, the movie does do some things good, but for every good thing (much like the entire sequel trilogy), it's hounded by 50 other awful things that puts it right there along with some of the worst of the EU. Its not Abeloth, but its down there.

Kylo is completely different than Vader, that's the main point of his story. You completely missed one of the best things about his character.

The ST was about Kylo until TROS and this is what his story was clearly building towards already. JJ's fanfic doesn't count, but Kylo's story is still the best in the franchise regardless. It just isn't the story they set up for him and could have been so much better. They essentially gave Rey Kylo's story at the last minute, but it failed and it's not wonder.

Way too much Rey in this movie. The worst part is even though she hogs so much screentime, she is doing pretty much nothing during it. Just a bunch of useless scenes standing around talking. The only time shit starts to get real is when she fights Kylo or her fighting Palpatine ending, the latter which was an abomination anyway.

The entire Disney trilogy is just stupid as hell from cover to cover, there's nothing worthwhile or with the smallest bit of substance of take away from them.
