Well, if you were curious, here's what the movie is actually about:
A bunch of Alex Jones types start a rumor on twitter that rich liberals are hunting conservatives for sport. Because of the danger of Fake News, people begin condemning the innocent rich liberals for crimes they didn't commit. Hillary Swank's life is ruined by false rumors that she hunts and murders people. She gets her revenge by... Tracking down and kidnapping a bunch of the right-wingers who started the rumors, hunting them down and murdering them.
The only survivor is Betty Gilpin's character - who wasn't involved in the original Twitter fight at all. She was kidnapped by mistake and doesn't understand or care about anyone's political argument.
How can anyone be against a movie that kills Nazis it's like the people who bitch about Wolfenstein
Xavier Cook
So this would be like if the Comet Pizza guy took revenge by fucking a bunch of kids for real?
Tyler Nelson
Nice gag.
Nicholas Gonzalez
ah yes, the old "extremism is the real enemy" message. GAAAAAAAAYYYY
Gabriel Wright
The lesson the white right wingers bad and rich Jewish people good is one we call get behind. Bravo Lindelof
Juan Lewis
any movie that makes conservatards seethe is based in my book
John Hall
Many conservatives defended it thinking they would be sympathetic. The cuckservatives got its release delayed, but ended up being right about its story.
Aaron Myers
Can't wait to see the defense of this garbage being >But the liberal is also the bad guy! As though villainous disproportionate revenge porn isn't their most cherished fantasy.
Owen Murphy
because nazi just a jewish slur for white people, nothing more.
Brayden Howard
How does that make them look bad if it’s liberal elites that are the villains? This movie on every conceptual level is fucking stupid & another case of Damian Mazeltov thinking he’s smarter than he actually is
Blake Diaz
From what I see in the trailers it's probably just one scene where they wake up gagged like that. Shame, since Emma Roberts really wears it well
Parker Wilson
Cause the libs got their lives ruined, so they’re sympathetic to the audience
Angel Reed
>How does that make them look bad if it’s liberal elites that are the villains Hillary Swank is a victim too and there's catharsis in her killing all of her right wing Twitter bullies (do those even really exist or is that like white guys playing the knockout game?)
The only sympathetic character is the one she kidnapped by accident for having the same name as one of her Twitter bullies
If the movie has a message it just seems to be "when you genocide the drumpfies make sure you don't accidentally kill any white moderates," which I suppose does make it the anti Get Out
>I'm going to lie about you >now that you've lied about me, I'm going to actually do what you were lying about
Yeah, sounds like something a liberal would do.
Christopher King
>Swank is a victim too
Oh the poor, poor billionaires that have no choice but to hunt Americans for sport.
Michael White
Literally 9/10 times a right wing loaded accusation is put out it’s immediately laughed off as being ridiculous Alex Jones babble or ignored entirely. What world do these people live in thinking the right has any sort of power the left does in terms of things like that?
Kayden Butler
>Bit gags will never be a mainstream fashion accessory.
Thomas Baker
A post James Gunn world
Jacob Jones
He plays Alex Jones.
Alexander Flores
All social conservatives should unironically be hunted and killed in horrible and painful ways.
Ryan James
How tolerant and progressive
Ayden Thomas
Anyone want to take a shot about what's similar with all these guys' early life?
So its basically a revenge fantasy from Hollyweird wanting to kill 4channers.
Cooper Reed
I didn’t say that. It isn’t Cons.
Ethan Jackson
Nazi = Everyone against Democrat (Far Left) policies.
Gavin Cook
Oh I’m so scared. There’s a 41% chance you’ll be the one who dies painfully anyway
Ayden James
do they like the same beer? how am I supposed to guess this shit?
Alexander Baker
I'm just explaining what's clearly the narrative.
I saw another review that compared Swank's Athena to Jason Voorhees. Nothing Jason does can be morally or intellectually defended, of course, but in sheer popcorn movie logic most people emotionally sympathise with him because he's an incredibly violent, overreacting mechanism that turns assholes into confetti. The movies always seem to go out of their way to let us know the "innocent" people he butchers are inevitably arrogant, moronic, bullying low lives whose brutal deaths serve as fucked up Aesop fables. That's why when audiences see Michael Myers or Freddy Kruger they scream, but when they see Jason they cheer like their favorite pro wrestler just showed up.
I'm not expressing or defending this viewpoint, but am I adequately explaining it? The Hunt doesn't ever truly say Athena is wrong for killing people who troll her on Twitter. It only ever establishes she's wrong for inadvertently attempting to kill one woman who DIDN'T troll her on Twitter.
>Inner city dwelling Soi's unironically think they can beat the right that is armed to the teeth.
Bring it.
Brayden Sanders
>They deserved to be killed because they bullied me online and support the orange man
What's amazing is that this line of reasoning is probably accurate for 90% of twitter users.
Dylan Miller
Open borders and free stuff for foreign invaders is not a "centre right" policy you absolute retard. It may have once been what you say, but you let the crazies hijack your party.
Grayson Rodriguez
It sounds like that reviewer has never seen a Friday the 13th movie in his life and is just parroting pop culture facts.
Gavin Bell
this desu
Julian Hill
I'm a huge fan of the franchise and I'd say the Friday the 13th movies increasingly became that as they went along
There is something to Zombie Jason of a Todd McFarland style "antihero"
Ian King
>Tape gags Why do I have this fetish and just this? It's so weird.
Christopher Diaz
>if it's not killing all white people and making everyone get the same salary for any job then it's not far left
Bentley Bailey
>alex jones types Ok fine, right wing ite. Nowadays conspiracy theory is seen as a white supremacy thing. Why, I have no idea since bush & 9/11 is one of the most popular ones next to the Clintons or pizzagate
Justin Sanchez
What? The most sympathetic characters are in the later movies. >Part VI: Tommy Jarvis=everyone wants him to win >Part VII: There's one evil bitch that everyone wants dead but it also has Carrie and everyone wants her to win >Part VIII: This one is just silly but none of the characters are particularly irritating >Part IX: This one just sucks and everybody hates it >Part X: Jason vs Space Marines, you just want to see a cool battle
The stereotype of Jason killing irritating teens comes mostly from parts II-V and is kind of overblown
Joseph Campbell
Look I’m on your side, I’m not arguing with you, I’m just explaining that Swank’s character is a lib that’s meant to be sympathetic
