Vaporwave is a fucking joke of a genre right now. Like anything it was original and pretty unique when it first came out but it got played out hard and fast. only so many times you can slow down and add sounds to old 80s songs before it gets tired. if someone is making "____wave" in 2020, it's an immediate red flag that they are a derivative fucking hack.
