>Missy in the back
its a perfect photo

she's observing the creation of the Hybrid in real life

How nice to see that a general still exists for a show that ended such a long time ago. That ending with the old scottish doctor peacefully dying in his TARDIS was nice.

meant for

They get progressively bad. It's really only series ten that reaches insufferable levels and starts to actively infect the Doctor's character.

>Still no indie dramedy where Gomez and Capaldi play Jenna's parents
It's literally all I ask

a line here and there, but that's enough to trigger people these days so I'll say "pretty cucked, don't get close to it"

it varies, but the twelfth doctor as a character is enjoyable enough to make you keep watching.

Haven't watched since Capaldi, but I am a sucker for Cybermen looking cool and speaking in cool robot voices. Are the new Cybermen any good? Worth watching their episodes?

>but i've seen a clip of him mentioning trump.
Nigga don't even watch it

The plots themselves aren't that bad, it's just isolated moments that make you cringe, like the Trump line, or The Doctor punching a racist

Michelle Gomez seems like she'd be such a laugh to work with

post-season4 river was an utter mistake and moffat should've just forgotten her after amy and rory left

>is it all going to be girls in the future?
>we can only hope (^;
Utterly disgusting and cringe. Why did they do that to my boy?

Doctor Who is fucking shit and I say this as a true fan.

I agree although I thought her dynamic with Capaldi (after finding out who he was) was far better than with Tennant or Smith

The whole exchange is retarded if you deconstruct it even slightly. Apparently timelords change gender all the time now and it literally means nothing to them, and yet this is an exchange that the Doctor and the Master have.

>Doctor punching the racist is cringe and not based
Reminder that here's the list of alpha Doctors who would have decked that fag

All the other Doctors would have done some pacifist pussy shit about talking the guy down or getting really angry >:( about him but not doing anything

the final episode of season 9 starts the endless tirade of woke shit, sadly

This is the ultimate truth.
The only debate, still discussed by the fanbase to this day, is "When did it go to shit?"
For me it was, clearly, after An Unearthly Child part 1

The guy was a product of his time though. Why didn't The Doctor punch fuck out of everyone in London? Why just that one guy?

She unironically just needed show a bit of vulnerability or humility once in a while. It's Moffat's weird powerful woman fetish that gets in the way. They actually salavaged the character quite a bit in Husbands with that revelation that she's actually been coping the whole time because she knows the Doctor can never truly love her the way she wants.

In much the same way as a writer's retcons (EG timeless child) can change the meaning of events that have already happened in The Doctor's past,
the show turning shit can retoractively cause the older, better parts of the show to also become shit. Therefore, there is a point where the show turned to shit, but because of that event the show has always been and will always be shit

i was more annoyed by the fact she never left. we already saw her end and her goodbye in Library, then she gets another goodbye in Name of the Doctor, then another in Husbands

just fucking stop Moffat

The truth is that the BBC are just a shit network for getting science fiction made. They don't get it, and they don't respect it. As long as it's with the BBC, DW will always just be a really good idea, executed at various levels of incompetency, constantly being shown up by some nobodies in a shed with microphones, or trying their hand at writing a novel for the first time.

Would you rather ITV or some other network pick it up then?

why have the Cybermen just become a robot army for the Master/Missy to order around? why do they even obey a non-cyber non-human leader? why couldn't they have come up with a different alien race to act as a mook army instead of ruining the cubers?

Doctor Who is dead.

Potentially, yeah. ITV aired UFO, which is excellent for the time.

lol, just realized because her 'Saved' form comes back in Name if the Doctor then she still has one more goodbye, The Library gets blowed up

The Masters default is always cybermen, when all else fails make cybermen, its like his no1 plan everytime

Well he can't punch everyone, can he?

why not? infinite regenerations so time isn't a concern.

i highly enjoy the scene in S6 when she asks 11 to trust her and he just assures her that he isn't retarded enough to do that

I'm enjoying classic Who, and Hartnall is growing on me given how different he is to the Doctor as I know him from nuWho, but I'm finding it a bit of a slog. So many episodes have an interesting premise stretched out far too long. Does this improve before long?

I get what the Master gets out of it but it's like the writers have forgotten the cybers have an actual goal/will of their own
don't get me wrong I like a good robot army but the cybers are not robots

Based, can we get Big Finish on this? Maybe a boxset about The Curator enjoying his retired life to just punch every person in history?

They do drop the longer multi-parters after a point. Four parts beomes standard somwhere in the 70's.

Fuck it, post your top 5 Doctors, let's insult each other' tastes

For me it's
Capaldi, Hartnell, McGann, Eccleston and Tom

>Moffat's weird powerful woman fetish
I've never understood why apparently no-one has challenged him on this. Do people really think the kind of women he writes are 'empowering'? They're offensively one-dimensional. Not just in Who but in Sherlock as well, Irene Adler and the fucking secret evil sister were awful

that would be blackadders job

Tennant
Capaldi
Hartnell
Troughton
McGann

If the master has to have an army of cyborgs then it should be Toclafane or some redesign of them

1. Jo Martin
2. Jodie
3. Tennant
4. Tennant (generated a duplicate so I'm allowed to pick him twice XP)
5. ummm the rest are all boring ^^;

Doctor Who is such a strange show when you consider how it exists.
Occasionally you get some episodes which are actually brilliant, like Heaven Sent and Midnight.
Sometimes you get episodes which are good but nothing special.

But most of the time it's utter tripe which is only elevated into being watchable because of the actor playing The Doctor.
It doesn't actually make any sense how the show is still running when you consider the vast majority of the show's history has been pretty fucking shit.

RTD and Moffat both had this major issue with just letting characters go when it's time. I actually liked Rose when she was on the show, but I pretty much hated her by the time I'd sat through a series of the Doctor moping over her, and then her return in S4.

Capaldo, Smoth, Troughton, Pertwee. McGann

he starts off great and goes too far each and everytime, except for missy but if he had stayed a few more seasons i'm sure he would've found a way to ruin her too

Capaldi
Smith
Eccleston
Colin Baker
Pertwee

Don't forget mediocre/terrible episodes but with one amazing moment that makes you wish the episode around it was equally good

Well because then you have to publicly come out against "powerful women" and that makes you a sexist, so we just have to sit here and let terrible writing happen.

Seven wouldn't punch anyone. He's too much of a master schemer for that - he'd get someone to do it for him.
Eight is too much of a romantic to punch anyone.
War would just get grumpy.

>So many episodes have an interesting premise stretched out far too long
welcome to classic who. You gotta remember that 60's tv was a real weekly thing and the show ran all year long, it was completely natural for stories to get stretched out so they can fill the time slot. The Invasion is infamous for being a 4-part story stretched to 8 parts, for example.
But I feel like the pacing gets pretty tight somewhere in S2 of Hartell tho.
Or maybe that was when I got used to it on my marathon.

Also get fuckin ready for Masterplan, it's 14 parts long and most of it is lost.
it's also pure fucking kino

She's such a laugh generally. She was at a convention I was attending and towards the afternoon she was obviously getting a bit stir crazy sitting in her booth so she drew a Master's goatee beard on herself with a magic marker and proceeded to sign autographs like that for a while. I laughed every time I passed her spot.

You shouldn't be watching them in order. You'll get sick of it fast. You're watching years worth of programmes in a couple weeks

She does seem a bit bonkers in general. In a good way.
