It was, but not really in a good way. Holdo refuses to tell her crew which were in fear of their lives and proceeded to mutiny her plan just because she wanted to teach them the message of "hope." Rose got in the way of Finn each time he tried to protect his friends, nearly killed him anyways by crashing into him, then lectured him on needing to protect what you love and not fighting what you hate, before kissing him when he clearly wasn't into it. And Rey, the last Jedi, clocked Luke in the back of the head with a metal staff and threatened him with a lightsaber when he only fought back defensively. Leia was fine, but revealing her proficiency with the force by waking up in space after being there for a few minutes and then Superman-ing back made what could've been an interesting moment into one that's laughable.

The only announced films for Star Wars is the ones that formerly had D&D attached, which was announced a few months after Rian's trilogy. And with Lucasfilm trying to course correct after TLJ with TRoS and other side media (the excuse of Holdo's maneuver being impossible to reproduce first appeared in TLJ's novelization, not TRoS, for instance), there's no way he's getting his movies.

Leia also had problems. The fact that she tells Poe not to commit to the attack and demotes him for it are really huge issues. She comes across as a weak ineffectual commander because either the rest of Poe’s bombing squad also ignored her orders, or she just caved and allowed it only to punish him afterwards. If she really wanted to bail on the bombing run (which is also a completely separate issue of her making a really stupid decision) then there’s no reason she shouldn’t have been able to stop the rest of the squad regardless of how Poe reacted.

I like how all the meta-narrative in TLJ, along with the subversion of the fanfic-trajectory, seems to have lead to fanboys giving up SW-fanfiction, and instead engage in RJ-fanfiction.

Daily reminder The Last Jedi is the only true realisation of the lessons of the original trilogy. Luke's character was assassinated? More like it was a necessary regression of an otherwise perfect caricature to re-validate the stakes and grant legitimacy to the supporting cast. Why didn't Holdo tell Poe the plan? Because he was established as being hot-headed and short-sighted when it came to leadership and thus couldn't be trusted with sensitive information. The Casino side-plot was a waste of time? One could argue it was for the sake of 'world-building' but that trait is only reserved exclusively to the prequel trilogy. Finn learns vicariously through Rose, that the galaxy isn't so monochrome as once was his limited worldview. He starts TLJ as a deserter but finishes the movie as a fully-fledged Resistance fighter. Thought Rose and Holdo were bad characters? You're probably just one of those weirdos that tout on about 'feminist KK self-inserting' and 'forced diversity' as if you don't understand the true nature of corporations pushing progressive agendas. They don't do it because "they're progressive and hate men". They do it because they've done research that suggests that being socially progressive will net them more money. Just face it that literally every 'critique' of the movie that's been brought up since the release can be refuted through some form of evidence in that's in movie itself; but this isn't acknowledged by haters because they're so infatuated and set in their (or more likely their favorite Star Wars YouTuber's) ways that they won't even bother giving the correct perspective the light of day. The day will come when TLJ will most likely be seen as the only true spiritual successor to the original trilogy whereby it meets the expectations and spectacle worthy of the beholden franchise whilst interweaving character agencies actually informed by their decisions and not some random fate subjected to them by destiny or lineage.
