What’s it like living in LA?

traffic

Shallow, status-obsessed, everyone perpetually envious and insecure while finding opportunities to look down their nose at others.

smog

Must be nice living near the ocean.

That's a thing that Bay Area people often say when they visit LA. Commenting on how there's a palpable sense of being perpetually rated, like everyone is sizing you up, seeing if you're someone they want to know or not. The Bay Area doesn't really have that feeling at all. In LA and even Orange County in a lot of parts it can feel almost oppressive and aggressive. And everyone I know from LA have real deepseated issues and self-image problems because the place is so psychologically taxing.

Like bags of sand

There's nicer places to live near the ocean for far cheaper

It's literally being on the shittiest end of the social spectrum, while at the same time being on the most beautiful end of the spectrum.

If you live within 5 miles of the coast its enjoyable. Otherwise its just...dirty. Garbage everywhere, in the gutters, in the street, on the sidewalk, in the foliage, its fucking everywhere and no one seems to give a shit.

I find the brightness in SoCal almost unbearable. The way on some days it looks bleached outside. The pavement reflecting the light so strongly it blinds you.

it's pretty ghetto except for the rich areas ofc. beaches are always crowded, weather is good tho and they have the best tacos.

LA seems like the best worst place in the world

Hot and sunny. Hot and sunny day every day. Hot and sunny, ain't it neat?

More like LGay lol

FIRST POST BEST POST

I lived in LA for many years and it is the worst traffic combined with the least ability to avoid it unlike denser cities with transport options. It is hell. I probably had spent well over 10% of my entire life in traffic before I left.

Nobody wants to deal with the traffic/parking involved in going, especially when you get there it is going to be a shithole (if its public beach)
Listen to this user if you want the beach dont think LA think Florida or something

I’ve lived here for over 2 years now, and I’m honestly convinced that LA would be better off if the city just split itself into distinct enclaves and concentrated their industries so that people don’t have to fucking commute for hours and have to worry about getting stranded in traffic on the way to work or when returning home.

>listen to pic related
>think it's gonna be about tv writers talking about how they design characters, write believable worlds, break story, etc.
>instead it's hundreds of episodes of Ben Blacker talk to a panel of writers about how to network and kiss ass to your superiors so they can get you a writing gig

I feel like I'm Charlie trying to kick the fucking football listening to this shit

Meh. Its not so bad. I wanna say its like a city of ghost that can't see each other. But i guess its like any other place i guess. A few cool people and a shit load of losers. Its easy to get good drugs. A lot of mexicans and bums. Not to compare the two outside of sheer numbers. A lot of good brewerys. Ive lived here my whole and have only seen two celebrities. Jay Leno and Forrest Whittaker.

Lots of traffic. Lots of crime. Lots of non-whites. Loud all the time. Some of the best bars and music joints as well as some of the best restuarants.

>he doesn't know about the underground tunnels

Anywhere along the Gulf Coast, really. Just stick a major Spring Break destination.

Ron Perlman frequents the Golds Gym on Hollywood.
He’s usually there on weekday mornings.

In a perfect world sure, but the reality is that people get jobs anywhere they can. I knew people in Santa Clarita commuting to work at DISNEYLAND. Holy hell the time people spend there just SITTING ON THE FREEWAY is INHUMANE.

I live in a top 10 traffic/infrastructure quality city now and the difference is night and fucking day. My gas costs reduced by something like 75+%

I have a friend who lives up on the hills. His cement patio is cracked in four different places.

What about Vancouver?

That must be like living in an aquarium.

>>instead it's hundreds of episodes of Ben Blacker talk to a panel of writers about how to network and kiss ass to your superiors so they can get you a writing gig
This is literally Hollywood. Do you think people get gigs on merit? Ha ha dont make me laugh. People may KEEP gigs on merit but they GET THEM from who they know. If you suck you will fail but being good isnt all there is to success.

Heh. That's a thing I now remember about the LA area. So much of the cement and pavement being cracked in places. The sidewalks outside our house in a really nice neighborhood had some cracks going down them here and there. Earthquakes, you reckon?

Not surprising. We've had several earthquakes over the last couple decades.

No one can see inside since you're on a hill and the front part is protected. I want the place from the Bosch TV series.

It is.
We had one last July and it caused lots of problems.

That's just the pool house bro. They don't live in there.

Silver Strand / SD Bay >>>>>> LA
Really though just live somewhere inland and go to the beach occasionally, rather than having damned a 10x COL.

I remember the cement segments in the sidewalks starting to get pushed upwards. My dad hurt his back after some annoying old busybody neighbor kept complaining about it and he spent all this time trying to fix it.

Yep. LA used to almost get yearly floods and earthquakes. Well, maybe not Yearly, but they were always bad. The Narrows were built to stop the floods, but now during heavy rain they're basically death traps and if you get stuck in there, you'll die.

I think the last BIG Earth Quake was in 94? Really fucked up a lot of the infrastructure.

Literally fuck my poorfag life.

>I want the place from the Bosch TV series.
How does a Detective own a place like this?

>seeing if you're someone they want to know or not
well fug thats easy. no, the answer is no

Name one.

>beaches are always crowded
lol maybe if you only go to tourist beaches.

Blackmail

In the books he sold the rights to one of his earlier cases to a producer who he later becomes friends with who then turns it into a really shitty TV series that he's embarrassed about.

In the TV series it's mostly the same, but it's a movie. A really shitty movie that he is again embarrassed about and his daughter teases him about.

lol sorry dude but you're fucking stupid for thinking the gulf compares to the wrest coast. You're really, really dumb.

Bosch is trash.

I'd rather live on the coast of Greenland than the west coast, stop kidding yourself. California sucks now.

You're trash, nigger.

Best place to live if you have the money. Traffic is the only downside

Ok, low income bitch lol.
I can afford to live near the pacific ocean. You can't.

Move to SanFran if you're able, it's a lot more relaxing.

>Living
>LA

Have fun when the food runs out soon queers.

Holy shit the levels of unwarranted self-importance are off the charts here! Nobody gives a shit, pal.

As an euro it seems like the worst place on earth.

To live and die in LA was top kino tho

only retards blinded by hollywood movies move to LA. it's best to just live in a neighboring city in the LA county. cheaper, safer, and still close to everything.
I live in glendale that's just 20 min away from downtown LA. it's still somewhat pricey, but it's pretty great. traffic isn't nearly as bad, nice scenic residential areas, a lot of things to do, pretty clean, no ghetto black people, and one of the safest cities in the country.

I've been there once as a kid and I remember hating the weather. It also felt smoggy for some reason.

wait wait wait! hold up...answer this for real question.....are you a virgin?

The entire coast near LA is literally india poo-tier beaches covered in fecal matter. Bums shit everywhere and it all goes out to sea. The high value of LA property in today's era has nothing to do with the relative quality of its beaches and everything to do with its relative proximity to LA industry.

>everything is expensive
>thots and dude weed lmao everywhere
>homeless everywhere
>cant own guns

sounds horrible

The ocean is the best place to dispose bodies because it washes away the skin cells and DNA and whatever other evidence.

No. Bodies float in the ocean because salt and currents and tides often bring body’s back to shore. And many people are in boats on the oceans as well as on ocean beachs.

Basically China but worse
