Right now white American males and American Indian males have the highest rates of suicide. It's not totally clear why in either case. Alcohol is a relatively recent thing for natives, they may not have the long standing cultural norms needed to deal with, there may even be a lack of genetic tolerance.

depends on the group. some were very hospitable people other groups names could cause people to up root and run because if they were caught in a raid they would be raped, hunted for sport or enslaved. The Comanche were an example of the latter.
