FUCK BAJORANS AND FUCK STARFLEET

When Riker grows a beard is generally agreed to be when the series gets better. The term "growing the beard" was created by TNG to refer to shows that start off weak but eventually find their footing. You're not wrong to find it to be a step down, pretty much everyone hates the first season of TNG.

Season 2 and onward gits gud

...I actually have god-like time manipulation powers so really I can do anything I want and nobody can stop me.

i'm currently on season 3. season 1 reminded me of a less enjoyable version of TOS. season 2 was a marked improvement. season 3 is good so far.

What the heck is going on that multiple people are currently watching The Next Generation for the first time? Is it because of the Picard show?

Midway through season 3 it becomes bearable.

the first season is 25 episodes fuck

Honestly you can just skip to the good stuff. It's a pretty episodic series.

finished TOS a few weeks ago and was going to watch the movies next but decided to skipped them

Up to you to skip like says. The way I think of it, is that you are just diving head first into the corny end of the pool. StarTrek always has the goofy episodes, but TNG season 1 really douses you with them, so you build a resistance to them later on in the series and can weather them--and even appreciate them-- as they are peppered through the better, milestone episodes.

Don't listen to Just watch season 1. There's some legitimate good episode in there. There's a finite amount of trek, and i wish i could watch season one for the first time again...better than what we have currently.

>Wheaton turned down the role because he did not want to put off his acting school, and when his manager urged him to take the role anyway, he told him, "It is like Luke Skywalker when Yoda told him not to go and save his friends, but to stay on Dagobah and learn to be a Jedi instead. Luke didn't listen to him and that's why he never became a true Jedi master." Later, Wheaton regretted turning this role down, saying that this was a crucial factor why his career never got to be a successful one.

He was wrong anyway because Luke did finish his training, he just didn't finish it with Yoda.

When Michael Piller and Jeri Taylor take over.

What. Season one is good.

I love these webms.

yes, which further cements him as a turbo brainlet

season 2 was the only good season, it had best medical waifu pulaski

I really can’t help but unleash a population of nanomachines

stupid indeed
chances like that only come once in a lifetime, and he let it go so easily

What role did he turn down?

Edward Norton's role in Primal Fear, apparently.

I actually liked season 1.
I just finished the second last episode of season 2, and while there are some good episodes in season 2 (the royale, time squared, pen pals), it made less of an impression on me than season 1 overall.

SHAMEFUL. Beards are for admirals. Walking around with a beard says more than any medal.

Cocksleeve.

It takes a couple of seasons

Was he right?

Q Who? That was probably the best episode of Season 2 imo, the Borg were scarier in that than their later appearances.

The Borg were creepy, but the episode itself was a bit lacking. Just Q being a dick, Guinan space magic, and Picard having no choice but to beg Q to help them escape, and it was unsatisfying as a whole, loss of 18 crewmen, probably civilian families, with no recourse.

>unironically thinking you are the luke skywalker of acting
what an insufferable little shit

He never had a chance. TNG was is lucky horse all along. He only got the part because he was a cute kid. No amount of drama school would compensate his genetics making him growing up to be a fat neckbeard soiboi.

This episode was very dumb. Yeah lets recognize sentience to a computer vírus and try to reason with them putting everyone in the ship at death risk instead of just terminate it.

They tried to do this with the mass murdering crystalline entity, too. Fortunately though that thing was shattered into pieces.

>patrick stewart was 47 when he started TNG
>wil wheaton is 47 now
soi meme is real

He's got good bone structure, obviously, just a bit of a weak jaw which is made more pronounced by his flabby skinnyfat physique. If he were to renounce his sedentary, onions-ladden lifestyle and work out, Wheaton could look quite handsome and also have a chance to find work outside of touring the D-list con circuit or preening on reddit.

You can acknowledge sentience while still terminating the threat, which the Enterprise crew don't seem to get with non-bipeds. Think of how many fucking Klingons they vaporize -- do they hate the wrinkly-headed bastards so much they consider them non-sentient? Just apes on starships, worthy only of a quick torpedo to send them to an atomized grave in the cold vacuum of space? If so, based Picard cleansing the galaxy of non-human filth.

i wanna punch him.

Look at his face. He Just doesnt have it. His lifeless smile, posture, even his hair, It all show us a weak person. He would never achieve even B list status.

He's overhyping the importance of "shut up Wesley" as a line proper - it's just a meme - but he's right about everything else.

Obsessed

>Tfw you were anticipated to be the embodiment of the true white man meme
They really did envision a better tomorrow.

>That episode where Q Riker makes Wes an adult.
>Is a total Chad.
You think that stings?

He looked like a Chad every time he showed up in Big Bang Theory, but perhaps that is just because it is easy to look good next to that cast.

based, fuck this faggot

season 4 of all star trek shows are when it gets god.
sttng: season 4 when picard get assimulated.
DS9: Season 4 when Worf joins the crew.
VOY: When 7 of 9 joins the crew.

Shut up Will

goes to show the superiority of TOS when the fucking show was great from start to finish.

You're kidding, right? Everyone hates season 3 and it's known to be the reason it got canceled.

>looked like a Chad every time he showed up in Big Bang Theory,

Right

>great from start to finish
Ok boomer

I'll take this shitty character any day over the absolute fucking trash coming out nowadays.

It was also time to elect the president and VP of the OASIS User Council, but that was a no-brainer. Like most gunters, I voted to reelect Cory Doctorow and Wil Wheaton (again). There were no term limits, and those two geezers had been doing a kick-ass job of protecting user rights for over a decade.

It's pretty funny. Going back and watching him now he is nowhere near as annoying as he was hyped up to be, because we have gotten accustomed to so much worse. Well, it's funny, but it's also sad.

"Q Who?" is where you see what TNG really has to offer, but there are a number of good episodes until Season 3 gets going. At that point pretty much every episode is excellent.

The TOS movies are great except 5 though.

Riker is a Commander though which is a higher rank than Admiral.

I agree with . Midway through S3
