Again, characters respond differently to different situations. Mike has never had to kill someone he felt didn't deserve it at this point. He killed two guys that killed his son, which is far different from killing some guy who, in Mike's eyes, just wanted to see his wife. Of course that fucked him up.
Peter Gould wanted 2 whole seasons of Mike roaming Albuquerque sending random niggers to the hospital but Netflix said no.
