The problems with the prequels is that nobody had the guts to say no to George. Before he got big and successful with the original trilogy,people would constantly chime in and speak up. Ford apparently read the script and told him that "the dialog sucks" on numerous occasions.

There is nothing more pathetic than Zoomers that grew up on prequels and clone wars garbage and think any of it is good. Your taste is just beyond awful.

Arguably that same problem occurred with the Prequels though too.
While they were primarily guided by Lucas' retarded vision, a PART of his supposed vision was making movies that were as merchandizable as possible. Watching the Prequels it's very clear that Lucas wanted them to be as universally marketable and profitable as possible at the cost of creativity and consistency.
Mike even touches on this in his Plinkett Reviews, ESPECIALLY the one for Episode 2.

A lot of it comes down to the sentiment behind their productions. I feel a lot more sympathetic towards the prequels because it didn't come with the blatant political progressive messaging (Wymyn STRONG! or hiring black guys because the cast was "too white"), as well as constant barrage of shitty fan-service and nostalgia-baiting. Were the prequels good? Not really, but they weren't offensively annoying like the sequels, even if I had a semi-soft spot for Force Awakens.
