Not related, but if you're looking to start getting Yas Forums, JoJo is motivational kino, I watched most of the third season on my phone while running on the treadmill or lifting with the other arm.

But i dont hate anime, just shitty weeb shit. If the show is good but the dub is bad ill watch the sub, but nothing caught my attention with jojo.
Some anime i think benefit from a dub like 91 Days, they even talk with accents from the time period which was nice.

Part 4 is actually the most shit part because the main cast is weak, the main plot takes forever to get going and the villain hardly does anything. The second arc of season 1 (episodes 9-24) are fucking amazing and the best thing from the Jojo franchise.

I agree. Jotaro is the worst Jojo and the first half before they get to Egypt is so boring, and even then lots of the Egypt episodes are a snooze. Honestly if the Manga/Anime was half the length it would be better.

I find that the start of every part is really weak because Araki is clearly making shit up as he's going week by week so lots of things get dropped immediately or never pay off or shift around a ton.

The entire Angelo / RHCP set-up was utterly pointless in the end. And why did RHCP even want the arrow? The fuck.

read the manga so you can go through part 1 quickly (admittedly a bit weak), stop when you're done with part 4. 5 and 6 are fucking trash (but 6 has one of the most autistic defense force ever). araki puts lots of souls in his stories but can't write a coherent story for his life.

i think structurally part 5 is strongest. The interplay between Giorno winning over each member of the squad and then including the backstory of each in turn. Very strong. Araki has not before or since used such a structural device.
But After Green Day/Oasis is all falls apart.

I don't understand the hate for 6 honestly. Its interesting and has some really cool ideas. It can get retarded though. The finale is amazing to me. I really want to see it put in motion and truly animated.

RHCP is pointless, yeah. But Angelo is clearly setting up Josuke’s motivation for defending the town. If that hadn’t happened Josuke wouldn’t have been remotely invested in fighting evil Stand Users. He’d just sit around playing vidya with his stupid haircut.

I'm an anime-pleb and I'm 10 episodes into Part 5 and wow I am really not feeling it.

All of the fun animation flourishes like the wacky colours, the [menacing] kanji, etc is completely absent and the plot is boring as fuck so far. Does it get better?

it was just stupid. jojo has always been stupid, but this time they try to play it even more serious than 5 and it's fucking retarded. overall still better than 5 because that one was plain boring till the end

People (anime onlies) LITERALLY only like because of the ebin maymays. Some of the fights were really good but that's about it. GioGio is the worst Jojo, Diavolo is the worst main villain, the plot takes itself seriously even though it's stupid as fuck, and it has the worst ending sequence by far out of any part. Before the anime came out Part 5 was a top contender for least liked part (in western circles at least, not sure how it was received in Japan).

Some of the kill squad fights are top notch. White Album being one of them. Introduction of the main antagonist is basically when it gets better.

Its the weakest part though imo

Part 4 is largely funny and creative though. Part 3 is largely a protagonist who's power is punching, fighting against generic villains like man with sword, or man with fire.

5 is just terrible, and I didn't even watch the anime. worst jojo, worst supporting cast (imo), and from now on more than even before the fights are mostly "you just maimed me, but I actually predicted that and allowed it to maim you back better [but the enemy predicted the prediction too and strikes back - rinse and repeat]". diavolo is a cool guy tho
