I've read a couple of treatments. They were all really early, so who knows how much of this will remain.
The film will follow Furiosa from being a child of The Many Mothers who gets kidnapped by raiders and traded to Immortan Joe to be a sex-slave. He drugs his harem at this point, but it makes them infertile so he sells them all off. Furiosa is bought by the current Imperator, who takes pity on her. He weans her off the drugs, and we find out she has a strong mechanical ability because her mother was the head mechanic of the Many Mothers.
She's tasked with redesigning the War Rig, and is brought along on it's first mission: a skirmish against bandits who've sided with People Eater from Gas Town, in a power play against Immortan, headed by the guy who kidnapped Furiosa originally, a power player. This is Richard Madden's character Dementus, by the way.
It goes wrong, and the War Rig is ambushed. The Imperator is killed by Dementus and Furiosa is left wounded, chained to the wrecked and burning War Rig. Eventually the Immortan's War Parties catch up but they leave her behind, and she has to saw her own arm off.
She escapes, and makes her way back to the Citadel. She asks Immortan for permission to go after Dementus, and at first he just laughs. Then, for reasons, he relents and gives her two new War Boys (implied to be Nux and Slit) and sends her off. He tells her that if she doesn't return with proof she's killed Dementus, he'll kill her.
She finds Dementus, kidnaps him and then brutally cuts off all his limbs, ending with his head. She brings the head back to the Immortan, who offers her a job as the protector of the Five Wives.
