Stop posting this. It wasn't interesting yesterday either. Sage.
Damn bro, don't be rude to me. I'm sensitive.
Counter-sage
>it's not pro-war
>except when it's appropiate
ok
OT Is pro war, prequels are anti war.
>But it's not pro war if you're fighting for peace blah blah blah
Every war is fought "for peace" which is the peace after all your enemies are dead and you have your way.
we know its not pro-war. its pro terrorism.
The Jedi didn't fight for peace, nigger.
They fought for balance.
Remember the droid attack on the Wookiees?
Literally no one gave a fuck.
The council sent went one Jedi lmao.
>/OURGUY/
but that's not moviebob
That's just because George Lucas is bad at conveying his intentions. They are supposed to be fighting for peace
>not pro-war
fuck off

She may have ugly ching chong face but that body holy shit. Is this what a sugar-free diet looks like?
In the shooting script, Luminara Unduli and Quinlan Vos die on Kashyyyk.
Faggots with Americans accents are a very special breed of annoying.
>her granddaughter is now bouncing on a BWC
>Putting le epic cool music over a tragic and sad scene makes war good!
Who the fuck is pro-war? Star Wars has literally never even been pro-war
What....
Based
>Story about boy becoming a heroic knight and fighting a war. Kills millions of enemy soldiers
sure as fuck not anti-war
Basically there was a trailer for the new SW era Lucas film is making and in the trailer your can see they put "not pro war" on a list of concepts they enjoy about star wars and people are up in arms about it
that dude's a faggot
I wasn't annoyed about it not being pro war, I'm annoyed at an obvious leftist ideological decision taking another inch, cuz they're gonna take a mile soon.
>Star Wars has literally never even been pro-war
so why are the rebellion in a war against the legitimate galactic government?
I guess a few people arguing on the internet is enough to use the phrase "up in arms" for faggots like you now.
enjoy your bland Diversity Wars though, you've earned it.
Damn man you sure get worked up easily
cool, have another (you)
It's certainly not Anti War either. The film clearly states that war is ok when it's for freedom and revolution and yadda yadda.
Thanks. Give one to this post too while you are at it
The OT is pro war.
Star W A R S
How are we even debating this.
About war is not the same as being pro war
Star Wars portrays War as an unfortunate outcome that sometime can not be avoided. The Clone War was literally an orchestrated war made to make Palpatine look like a savior, kill the Jedi, then make people so sick of war that they give up their freedom... showing how wars can be exploited.
>smug bitch with 'styled' hair
that's no jedi
>Wishes: representation
Yikes
Not liking war is not that same as "not pro-war". Princess Leia does not have to be a violent rebel. She chose that method believing it to be better than using her political power.
The war in star wars against the empire is seen as completely justified and the rebels righteous and valiant. It shows the rebels celebrating and cheering after each strike against the empire which is full of fascist goons. There is absolutely no part of the OT where the morality of the conflict is called into question. It paints war as an honourable means of achieving political goals.
Her and Bail tried everything they could in the Senate to halt Palpatine to no avail. After Order 66 the majority of the senate gave Palpatine everything until Palpatine dissolved the senate completely.
So you're saying that nothing she did worked until she became a general and went to war? How is this an anti-war message?
>Every war is fought "for peace"
We see through your lies, Chaim. All thats left is naked, vulgar violence.
Ackbar's reaction is one though
>Ackbar’s last moment in Return of the Jedi, we’d won the battle against the Death Star. The director Richard Marquand came round and said, ‘I want you all to stand up and dance around and celebrate because we’ve won the battle.’
>"I was at the stage where I came within 200 numbers of being drafted for Vietnam. So I had very strong views about war at the time. While I think it's something to be proud of but not something to celebrate. There’s a big difference."
>If you watch that scene again, notice how Ackbar's reaction is utterly at odds with everyone else. Rose makes a powerful case for what he did, although the director was furious.
If Star Wars wasn't pro-war, then it wouldn't be called Star WARS. It would be called Star Peace or Star Dinosaurs! or some shit. The franchise needs war in order to keep existing.
but it has WAR on the title so you kinda think is this a war thing? but then it's actually about it's female characters
why do anti-war movies even exist? like who are they tailored towards? the average audience member has no day in the government's military action. if the president wants to go to war with a country, we have no way of democratically voting a declaration of war and its left up to congress to do it on our behalf. does congress watch movies? probably. but is a 2 hour flick going to suddenly change their minds when there's literally millions of lobbyist dollars at stake telling them to keep doing what they've always been doing? fuck no.
Not pro war and anti war are not the same thing
>Star Wars Explained
No thanks.
But the whole story of Star Wars is that there's bad guys that the good guys need to kill.
it wasn’t even the stupidest of their ideas
Then what is?
Then how is it not pro war?
The prequels could be described as anti war because they depict warfare as a tool of manipulation for politicians to gain power (which was very relevant in 2005). The OT has no such nuance though, it really is just "kill the baddies in your spaceship" with some personal conflicts and mysticism thrown in.
anyone still giving a shit about star wars deserves the gas chamber.
This. The Disney Defense Force is trying to pretend that the "not pro-war" part is the only thing people are mocking them for because they actually have an argument against it. If it got out that people were mocking Disney for wanting to put dinosaurs and Jedi Hogwarts into Star Wars, then even more people would be joining in the mockery.
Relateable characters.
This just gors to shoe that any IP taken over by women will slowly morph into Harry Potter.
>university
>dinosaurs
>arthurian legends
>rival houses
Kino in the making right there.
Why shouldn't there be diversity in a franchise that spans a galaxy?
The problem isn't diversity itself, but the people pushing for it. They not only hate white men, but will think that a population that is 40% black lesbians is progressive and so cool and woke and blehhhh.
They don't want to write a good story; they want to check boxes and brag about it on twitter.
Ask disney
Is that according to you? Why would Soule hate white men? Hell, why would Gray? Neither of them have ever portrayed that in their other work.
They want superficial diversity, characters with different genders, skin tones and sexuality.
There will be no diversity of ideas or opinions.
Look at Marvel comics; everyone is a democrat and they all think the same thing. The only conflict is wether or not pineapple should go on pizza, aren't comics just so quirky ecks-dee?
How is diversity of races superficial?
I'm speaking broadly. Most of the writers and editors involved complain about white men semi-regularly on twitter ( disneystarwarsisdumb.wordpress.com
Gray does complain about white men, but unlike the rest, she can actually write a good story so she's alright. Soule is also good, but I haven't seen him hate on anyone.
Because it doesn't actually enhance the story or setting, just scores points in the idpol culture war. Forget designing interesting aliens or creating interesting characters with flaws and differing viewpoints. Why go through all the trouble when you can just cast the first {insert minority here} in star wars and call it a day?
Does race affect who you are as a person?
They only look different, but will have the same opinions on everything. The writers will use them as soapboxes to push their agenda.
Of course, this is just my prediction based on everything that happened before with the same writers, so I'm willing to admit my mistake if it turns out I'm wrong when the books come out.
But it absolutely does enhance the setting. Just like how seeing both blue and green Twi'leks are more interesting than just seeing blue.
Gray, Yas Forumss worst enemy, has never written a star wars story that pushes an agenda beyond including one black character every two books
see
They could make the humans in star wars an ethnic soup for all I care as long as they pull their weight in the interesting aliens and good characters department. The problem is that they aren't, and that all focus is going into casting based on real world identity politics that arent even relevant within the star wars universe.
Look at rose, completely pointless character and extremely obvious that Rian wanted a chubby Asian in there to sate some weird fucking baggage he has about a high school crush and tick a diversity box in one go.
