So, with all the political bullshit aside...

So, with all the political bullshit aside, the general consensus here is that on its own merit this show is just mediocre, right? Not too bad, not good, just O.K.

It's embarassing in every way.

I'd probably say it's "under-average", if that's a term. It's worse than mediocre, but it has enough in it which stops it from being total shit.

so are video games

It's pretty bad, there's only 3-4 ok episodes in the entire season

they need to do a re-edit like they did for arrested development season 4. the way the plot fans out is incoherent and doesn't lead for a satisfying end.

it's mediocre
dumb zoomer, vidya witcher is great

What video games? This shitshow has nothing to do with video games.

the token blacks are fucking irrelevant next to the actual issues of this show like the pacing, world-building, set/costume design, dialogue, cgi etc.

>set/costume design
This is the one that gets me. These people had no clue what they were doing. Even more embarrassing when you consider they had the video games to give them some ideas.

The only selling point it had was a popular video games that everyone loves so the hype for the show was super high. It was well below average.

It’s excellent and I don’t even want to imagine what sort incel you’d have to be if you consider the presence of few non-whites “political”.

Biggest show of 2019 for a reason, not saying it’s 10/10 but close. They should have dumbed it down a bit more for average GoT watcher, plebs got confused by the timelines.

Can’t wait for S2 and expect it to be even better!

Barely watchable on the first viewing. I tried re-watching it to see if it gets better on second viewing, but I couldn't even make it through the first episode. It's pretty bad.

Well it was a pretty big deal for all of the seething Yas Forumsfags on this board so I wanted to find out everyone’s opinions on the show by itself ignoring all that source material stuff.

>Biggest show of 2019
It's already forgotten.

>Biggest show of 2019 for a reason
Successful video game.

>copy-pasting reddit comments.
Stop.

Ignore the Yas Forums incels, they decided to hate it long before even the trailer dropped.

The show completely fails it's better than average actors. Adaptation, direction, production design, editing, cinematography (lol) are all amateur hour.

the funniest thing is the excuse they gave for the nilfgaard armor, apparently it looks like tree bark because it's "practical"
absolute nonsense

Nobody brought up the nigger thing until you.

It’s still discussed on social media, plenty of people are rewatching these days and we have several daily threads about it even here. Hardly forgotten.

>all around bad casting is pol
kys mongoloid

Lazlo and Jaskier are relentlessly handsome.

It’s implied in OP but creator of the thread explained why Besides we all know why Yas Forums got so triggered by it.

cringe

pretty much

Vidya Witcher is shit. Janky, repetitive combat. Use your Witcher Senses to do literally fucking everything in the game. Some of the worst, most hackneyed fantasy storytelling imaginable. Horrible characters and dialogue. Witcher 3 is saved by having a few shining moments clustered around Novigrad with some extremely well-written side quests and a few genuinely funny moments throughout the game like the Witchers getting drunk. Also Blood and Wine, which is orders of magnitude better than the base game.

Agreed, but pic related was amazing storywise.

>Besides we all know why Yas Forums got so triggered by it.
Witcher setting is white, so the cast is wrong.
Next time use some full fantasy setting that can support muh diversity, like Conan

>witcher setting is white
Says who? Certainly not the author of source material who loves this adaptation.

Nah, it was shit, reddit

Anyone else think the CGI is terrible? I saw the first episode and it feels like I'm watching a episode of Xena or Hercules The Legendary Journeys in terms of special effects. It's honestly that awful.

this board makes me hate everything wtf...

based. literally a babbies first fantasy rpg.

Haven’t played the games myself but all my friends who have say that the Netflix show is much more complex, layered, nuanced story-wise. It seems that showrunners made two “mistakes” - ethnic inclusivity in casting, and expecting the audience to have IQ above 100.

>who loves this adaptation.
He loved the Hexer, too. Until the contract allowed him to tell his opinion.

Says the books.
Says the setting.
>the guy who hopes to profit from the renewed popularity of his own books and has a hateboner for the vidya adaptation said it's good
lMAO, ok shill
Books are the source material, not Sapkovsky

horrible acting

>all my friends who have say that the Netflix show is much more complex, layered, nuanced story-wise
Your friends are braindead.

given the fact that Yas Forums is full of retards, then yes, thats common opinion

Quit with that bullshit.
You are either baiting or your friends are below 80 IQ, like the intended audience
100+ IQ kek....

it was ok but they have already milked everything that was any good from the books, which was the short stories

all that remains is Ciri's stupid story and different people abusing her, and Geralt being sad and retarded, which was terrible already in the source material, and they won't make it any better

nothing fantasy or scifi will ever be above average.

yeah, gameplay is definitely one of it's weaker part

>political bullshit
Like what?

>It seems that showrunners made two “mistakes”
The show itself was a mistake.

king man bad. pleb man good.

This started out weak but ended very strong. The Scenes from a Marriage quest was amazing.

You just lowered your standards

Having finally played Witcher 3 and expecting a lot, lot better after all the hype, my interest level in Cyberpunk 2077 has sunk like a rock. Maybe if I find out the people behind Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine are heavily involved in CP2077 I’ll give it a chance, but if it’s anything like the base Witcher 3 game I think I’d rather just play something like Nioh or Dark Souls again. The sheer volume of cutscenes in Witcher 3 really started to get on top of me, especially after having played Bloodborne recently.

women and niggers

Without political bullshit?
It's unbelievably low production value. I didn't believe my eyes.
Take out Cavill, put in some no name instead, and you will not believe that this is not a bunch of larpers. It stands shoulder to shoulder with original polish Witcher.
There are actual fan peojects that are better acted and better produced, holy shit.

Peak Canadian post.

Fuck off cocksucker. We are not going over this again.

The dragon was actually on par with 2003 adaptation. I was shocked.

Pretty sure same people worked on base game and expansions. But agreed, I didn't like general story of the base game because of a "muh chosen one", "muh evil wants to kill everything".

it's just OK but everytime I see the sorceresses on the scene I immediately hate it again

Worst thing is, Geralt's involvement in story is basically finished after the short stories, because Szapkowski hated the character by that time.

Yeah I can't fucking wait for them to show how Vilgefortz, who got bitchslapped by Cahir in the show, is going to cripple Geralt in 1vs1 fight.

Skellige was pretty awful. Doing a Norse setting better than Skyrim shouldn’t have been hard and they still somehow fucked it up. I think they knew that section the game was shit, which is why they had vendors who’d literally sell you the fast travel points for the map - because otherwise you’d have to explore miles of mountain terrain in a game where six feet of fall damage can kill you.

so the sorceresses get enchanted to look really hot before graduating right? so why does this chimp look like a leshen went to town on her face?

>Geralt's involvement in story is basically finished after the short stories
Except he's the main protagonist in the series and it ends with his death.

Costume design is pretty good if you don't acknowledge Nilfgard, the battle scenes are fucking retarded, isn't this supposed to be a medieval fantasy setting? How do the armies not know basic tactics? They just zerg rush everyone. No siege weapons when Nilfgard attack that city, they just fire arrows at the fucking door. The casting choice is terrible for a lot of characters, such as triss, yen, and Fringila. Henry Cavill is a really good choice for Geralt, he does a great job. Dandelion is cringe, yet he was pretty boss in the books and games.

was an absolute shitshow. it's very rare that i dont finish a show, even bad ones, but try as i might i couldn't get bear to watch it the whole way through.

garbage

it's complete shit except for cavill
if you think he elevates the entire show to "ok" or even "good", you just revealed how shit your taste is

This.

He shuffles around in the background for five books, sulking all the time, doing fuck all while the books focus on Ciri and her merry adventures, until the final showdown on the stairs. And then Szapkowski decides to stick a fork in it, and it took him nearly two decades to calm down and return to Witcher in the form of short stories.

Give a coin to your witcher

>battle scenes are fucking retarded, isn't this supposed to be a medieval fantasy setting? How do the armies not know basic tactics? They just zerg rush everyone. No siege weapons when Nilfgard attack that city, they just fire arrows at the fucking door

Literally a fucking larp. The entire Nilfgaard army doesn't have a single shield.
