I decided on a DS9 marathon after my TNG marathon because I've seen more VOY episodes.
My GOD does this show take a while to get interesting. It's hard enough telling people to essentially skip season one of Babylon 5 and go back only if they liked the show. With DS9 I feel like you have to jump 30 or 40 episodes before it's worth watching.

Yes, but like Bab5 its early good episodes are too few and far between, and are really best at setting up what comes later. Or so I've heard with DS9.

Not I. In fact in my musings I was considering if they could expand and try some sort of domestic drama/comedy in the Star Trek universe. (I wouldn't try it now with media the way it is, certainly.)
I think it would be a fun challenge to try and do a FRIENDS-esque thing in a world where money and scarcity don't exist. They'd all be trying to "better themselves" and pursue their own chosen goals and in generally being very smug and dickish about it. Except that one Ferengi guy who's always trying to work up some money-making scheme with hilariously disastrous results.
It would at least give logic to a bunch of deadbeats living in a place they can't afford and always having new stuff.
