Very. The parallels for classical heroes was incredibly based especially vis-a-vis the surrealist take on Winchesters not being heroes in the previous episode "the Heroes' Journey". This might be one of my favorite latter season episodes.

I didnt mind anything until they couldn't pick locks. That...that changes alot of stuff. Can they speak Latin? Do they know how to shoot or play pool or martial arts or literally anything?

Totally different. Sam isnt a great cook but got along all these years because God thought 'cooking mishap'is a boring plotline sure.
Sam as a child spent time and effort learning lockpicking. Its part of his character. He picks locks. But, lol nope, god was picking locks for him all along.
