Name some more TV shows where the first 1 or 2 episodes are fucking captivating, amazing, and well-directed, but then instantly go to shit in the 3rd episode like a flip of a switch.

The Outsider was so good for the first 2 episodes. Then nothing happened ever again. All leading up to the most anticlimactic ending ever.

LOST

I watched Doctor Sleep and it had the exact same scene where a sniper waited in a clearing in the woods to kill people coming in by car. I wonder how many times Stephen King has gone to this.
Awful awful show that really baited people in with its first episode

Daredavil

I like the first 9 episodes 2bh
I know you anons need sex scenes and some nudes sometines but I actually like the slow-pace-trying-to-understand-the-characters but you know, we all are not the same.

Didnt like the last one but I think it was because of the book. Blame Stephen King

lmao this show was hot garbo, stopped watching after ep 6 I think. the meandering was off the charts. ep 1 and 2 were interesting only because you didn't know ( well I didn't ) it was a shitty supernatural plot.

>Based on a novel by Stephen King
>Disappointing ending.
Aren't you tried of eating that shit up? You know if it's something involving Stephen King, it'll have a horrible ending. Some of the shit he creates should have no way of being killed by humans. It Chapter 2. Kill IT by bullying.

If you’ve ever read a Steven king novel you’d know he can’t properly end anything.

He has some great intros and stories but never a fucking.ending

I'm actually reading through IT for the first time and it's pretty good. More comedic than I expected. When does it shit the bed? Also was he still on coke when he wrote this?

I'm in the unpopular group that thinks Dark Tower ended nicely.

This.

1-2 were pretty good, 3-5 awful, 6-8 somewhat better, 9-10 garbage

The samurai jack revival except it went south after episode 3.

YEAAAAAAH MOTHERRR NATUUUURE AHHAHAHA

Yeah, being super natural and the know it all OCD black woman (dont care about race) was really a disappointment. Didn't finish.

The psychic took me out she was too OP. Stephen king needs better ghostwriters.

What killed it for me was the el cuco episode.
became unwatchable

stephen king is like the mcdonalds of horror fiction

So we are supposed to think that Holly got scratched by Cuco even though it never got near her and she didn't get a scratch anywhere from a cave ceiling partially collapsing?

I totally agree
First couple episodes were intense.
Then it got too bloated with too many unecessary scenes.
Haven't watched the last two episodes, dropped it.

>King still using the Magical Negro trope
lol you gotta admire him for that considering it's now considered racist and King himself is so desperate to be seen as woke.

>Premise is build like a mystery puzzle that would be fun to think and crack yourself
>Creepy bad shadow monster on a title and cover so there's no mystery
Well, it's Stephen King

Stephen King is a shit writer. He just writes really fast so gets a lot out there, and having a lot of books published makes people think he's good.

wasn't this the case with castle rock too? lot of build up and anticipation and then nothing happened?
If you want to watch a stephen king adaption just watch the old movies and storm of the century

i stopped after e4 but you have to agree that the quality drops after the first two
bateman is really good with atmosphere

she's white in the books i think

>Nooooooooo! Not a black lady protag!!!!!!
Fuck off, the shows good and the boon plays a weirdo as well as anyone could.

Yes she is

Regarding the show glad it all ended as it did and terrys wife kids got closure , an they didnt try to spin another season out of it

>Ben Mendelson asks her what else is out there
>after credits scene of her with a big scratch on her arm
They were baiting for a second season very hard. I think HBO wants to turn this into an anthology where Holly deals with a new type of spook every season

Thanks user
Never saw that scratch bit , I do hope they dont spin this shit out

There were a after credits scene? Hate that shit. Completely missed it...
Besides that, I didnt think the ending was that bad. Pretty much what I expected. What kind of high hopes did you have?

>fucking captivating, amazing, and well-directed, but then instantly go to shit

i'm glad the tv series managed to capture the book so well

>Stephen King is a shit writer

a drider

So many odd choices in this episode. They talk up Jack like he's some kind of badass sniper, but he misses shot after shot of exposed people. What was the deal with the snakes? He had a tool specifically for getting rid of them on his rock. Was he on top of a nest or something? You can sit on a bigass rock in the woods and not be accosted by snakes every five minutes.

If you want to have a talkative, intelligent villain, it needs to be able to say something besides "I don't know," when asked questions. Why did Ralph see ghosts and how did he know that had something to do with the creature being alive?

How did Holly get scratched? Wouldn't that be meaningless if El Cuco is dead? That seemed very much like a last minute addition as a sequel plug.

this
then they walked in an Claude shot killed it , such a let down , had hoped the snake was Cuco , had so much promise , really was hoping for a big fighting skinwalker finale

Hbos been pumping out crap lately.

And why the fuck did Holly say, "Who's Terry?" in the cave when Ralph talks about clearing Terry's name?

I've seen speculation that it meant that she was turning into El Cuco (and thus had lost memories) or that she had been El Cuco ever since showing up to present her findings (and thus didn't know about Terry), but neither of those explanations make any sense or are in keeping with what's presented in the show.

Did they mean she had gotten so wrapped in finding El Cuco that she forgot who the person at the heart of the case was? If so, they didn't spend nearly enough time on this or drive it home enough, so it just comes off as confusing, especially given what we know about how good she is at remembering details.

Was it supposed to be something sarcastic? We've never seen her make jokes like that before and, again, it falls flat because of the delivery. For the life of me, I have no idea what they were trying to convey here.

the shots missing was him obviously trying to fight the creature's influence, he did stop at the end and got himself bitten by a snake on purpose, it's not rocket chemistry user, the ghosts scene was silly tho..

Who do you recommend?

The book sucked. Don’t know what you expected.

Watch 11.22.63

I liked episode 9 then this felt rushed and they got told no more seasons so why bother ,
For me the best actors in this was Ralph , wife ,Terrys wife, and claude , If you like Paddy Considine , watch Dead Mans Shoes its a classic

The shot where he has Holly sighted and doesn't shoot her I understood to be him fighting the creature's influence. The rest of the time, however, he seems to be firing wildly except when its time for a side character to die. Compare his opening headshot or the shot that killed Andy to the dozens of other wild shots he takes.

El goblina.

>start watching show because I like one of the advertised actors
>they die in the second episode

Attached: 20.jpg (500x550, 52.8K)

the casting is pretty horrible tbf

He was fucking wasted. Did you miss the parts with him chugging whisky and drooling all over himself? No way in hell anybody is going accurate like that.

Why didn't Andy activate his strength of ten men power?

I knew it would be trash when the reviews said the psychic chick was brilliant as an actress shes been in like 5 movies wtf

>don't mind me im just driving into an ambush I was very well aware of and despite all the gunfire I hear
>hey guys how you doing why are you all weaving aggressively at me

Attached: mpv-shot0001.jpg (1920x1080, 324.89K)

Why would El Cuco let him do that, then? Obviously El Cuco wants him as some kind of protector and wants him to kill the people looking for it, so why would it allow him to impair himself like that. If it can compel him to kill innocent people, and possibly keep him from killing himself (as in last episode), why couldn't it force him not to drink?

Well if you were in the cave and needed time, and all you had at your disposal was a drunk marine sniper.. would you not use him? Even if he was a drunken mess at the time? Cleary Cuco's control was not absolute as we saw when Jack shot himself and the other times he began to break out of that shell and try to "help". I'm assuming he didn't have enough control to get rid of a vice like that.

>And why the fuck did Holly say, "Who's Terry?" in the cave when Ralph talks about clearing Terry's name?
i'm a brainlet and want to know more about that.
and i missed the post credits scene.

Revival is the opposite.

what happened in the third episode? A woman or a black man?

that only applies to his books after the accident and not to all of them.

Cuco seems to have a very specific level of control, sufficient to get Jack to gun down innocent people but not enough to keep him from taking a drink. Cuco's behavior seems at odds with buying time. He doesn't try to escape or hide, nor does he try to ambush his hunters. What's the point of having a marine sniper as a bodyguard if you let him ruin his accuracy or if you let him slip your control when you need him most?

I haven't read the book, but the summary indicates that Cuco tells Jack that he has cancer, which will be cured if he serves him. That would seem to make more sense to keep Jack in line.

it was pretty good. Franco can deliver from time to time.

black woman

>jack making niggas drop
>magical sheboon "yells damn u to hell"
>end of threat

Fucking gay. Didn't make it past 10 mins into the finale and I'm pissed I wasted as much time on it as I have.
