Any other show as dreamy as Twin Peaks to make me forget my shit life?

The Sopranos

wish I knew one.

I watched the first season 4 years old and wasn't impressed at all. I also forgot most of it. Should I rewatch from episode 1?

RUNNING OUT OF SAND

Season 1 is the most comfy television has ever gotten.

And you reminded us in the 3rd month.

It's happening again.

Mushishi is comfy af

What year is it?

Someone explain this shit to me. Is it implying that Cooper and Twin Peaks is nothing but a dream?

I don't know. Maybe give the pilot a try. It's not Twin Peaks but nothing is. But I remember it having to do with dreams and was inspired by Twin Peaks. Also I think Lost is another show that takes a lot from TP but I never watched it.
Xavier Renegade Angel is dreamy too but in a very different way and is 100% a comedy.

Give it another shot, I felt the same way about twin peaks, I watched some of the tp pilot and thought
>this cheesy schlock is praised, this shit is boring and retarded
I let it lie until I heard they were going to make season 3 and gave it another chance and it is one of the best shows ever made other than season 2 shitting the bed. In my opinion, people think season 1 of sopranos is the best, but in retrospect I prefer the later ones, they introduce so many based characters and the dialogue and situations they get involved in, are often absurd but remarkably funny and often insightful.

>nothing but a dream
Come on, you should know by now that dreams and reality are pretty much interchangeable in Twin Peaks.

Okay so fucking explain it to me then.

It isn't a dream as far as I know, what I can confirm is that as much of it doesn't make any sense, it feels so right, it feels tight and everything is where it should be, and I feel particularly sensitive to plot contrivances, also we aren't bound to get a solid answer because lynch is unbelievably based and will never explain it.

It isn't implying that it is all a dream, but it is implying that they are all currently in a dream, sharing it, it is no ones dream.

I watched Lost and The Leftovers two years ago when trying to find something close to Twin Peaks and I absolutely loved it. I need more shows like this.
I'll try again, maybe I was simply too young to get it when I watched it the first time. I was maybe 18-19 years old.

You're overthinking it. It's Laura's dream, end of statement.

Then sopranos will appeal to you even more, at times its a very nostalgic show, the characters refer to the times past with reverence, as we do as we get older, and wish things now were different and pine for then, despite now being good. I'm not making the case for the sopranos of being a deep show, but it is very diverse in its handling of different themes, but most of all its incredibly funny.

>Lauras dream
No. It's Lynchs dream. His insert is Gordon. It's Meta.

Literally and factually wrong.

the show should've ended with 2x09

Boooo! WHERE MY CORN PONE NIGGAS AT youtu.be/YyfcCnU5hj8

It shouldn't have ended and kept continuing with mysteries until it transitioned into season 3, with the exception of everybody not having been miserable and dissatisfied for 25 years. Also Peggy Lypton's corpse is a skeleton now eaten by mice and insects which makes me sad.

The first half of season 2 isn't as good as you remember it, and episodes 8 and 9 of season 2 definitely aren't as good as you remember them, either. Season 2 was a tonal mess when Lynch wasn't around, in Season 1 the other directors more than held their own, but season 2 saw such a shift in tone towards darker and more supernatural shit that the other directors couldn't keep up.

Also the season 2 finale is perhaps the best episode in the series, and season 3 is better than season 2, so no it shouldn't have ended.

By travelling back in time and "rescuing" Laura, Cooper created a reality where he never went to Twin Peaks to investigate her murder and in which the events of Twin Peaks Season 1 and 2 didn't happen. In this reality, the only record of the 25 years after Laura Palmer died is in the mind of Dale Cooper, the magician who longs to see futures past. Hence the dreamlike atmosphere of the show; they literally live inside a dream, Dale Cooper is the dreamer

See this video

I want Tommy Wiseau and Greg Sestero to be in season 4

You do realize Lynch directed two episodes in season 1 (including the Pilot) and four in season 2?

2x09 is fantastic and anyone who says otherwise is a muh lynch faggot who can't comprehend that he wasnt the only talent involved with the show

Season 2 has a more slice of life feel

daily reminder that Twin Perfect's explanation is the most reasonable so far and you will never, EVER be able to come up with a better one

>it-it was all just random! there w-was no meaning!

brainlet cope

Cooper did go there though, but to investigate her disappearance instead, because she didn't die, but just vanished, which then in turn lead to Leland committing suicide from guilt a year later or something

>You do realize Lynch directed two episodes in season 1 (including the Pilot) and four in season 2?
how does that go against anything I said? I stated that the directors of season 1 could hold their own better, whereas with the shift in tone that Lynch brought in season 2 they couldn't. Season 2 has such bizarre (in a bad way) slapstick humor, and a majority of the characters just feel like they have no purpose and start acting in contrived and weird ways.

Also, Lynch was WAY more involved with the writing in season 1, whereas he wrote no episodes for season 2, this could also be a factor in why the tone is so off in 2.
No, 2x09 isn't fantastic at all, and I love a lot of the episodes directed by other people, 1x05-06-07-08 are fantastic, 2x06 is brilliant as well. I wouldn't call episode 9 bad, but it is so hamfisted in a really bad way.

His theory is literally "lol nothing in the show was sincere it was just a meta joke because Lynch hates television!"

Twin Perfect is a Twin Brainlet, it's a shit theory and he reaches sooooooooooooo fucking hard.

Twin Perfect is a retard that makes stupid videos for every shitty capeshit and garbage scifi movie with le epic theories to excuses garbage. It's the most consoomer tier interpretation of Twin Peaks, just sad.
>b-but you can't retort!! Haha where is your four hour video?!

lol, look at this nigger

>"lol nothing in the show was sincere it was just a meta joke because Lynch hates television!"
What's wrong with this interpretation? What's yours besides "lol dougie funne"

It's fine to shit on Twin Perfect's interpretation, but what's yours? I'm not even saying Twin Perfect is 100% right here, but out of all the interpretations i've seen his holds the most water.

lol dougie funne

Give Lynch more credit than that, he's sincere with his art, it isn't a fucking meta joke.

Also, who says you have to have this sweeping interpretation that fits every little event into it? It clearly wasn't made with that in mind so why try and apply a theory that is supposed to make it all fit together into a cohesive secret truth behind the whole thing? It's just stupid.

unga mad that big head tribe decipher story before me...

>decipher story
again, his big revelatory "truth" behind the show is that it was a meta joke. He's an idiot, his favorite films are probably Donnie Darko and Fight Club.

that idiot managed to sit down and think about the story to come up with a solid interpretation while your entire concept of twin peaks is just Yas Forums and reddit memes

coffee xD
