Its horror, fans of the genre don't care about that shit. They've had black dudes in major franchises since Night of the Living Dead. Fun fact, there were two black dudes in The Thing, we saw one survive and the other vanished without ever confirming he died. Horror has had black leads, female leads, and black female leads for years man. Horror got the first black major superhero movie. There have been transsexual protagonists and antagonists without ever implying one or the other is the default.

You know how media tried to memoryhole that Wonder Woman was the first big budget superhero movie? Think about that for an entire genre, get ready for a LOT of posts implying a white female lead being stalked by a white dude is revolutionary.

Horror I think is maybe juuuuust now starting to get back on track, but it was mostly in a shit position for that last decade.
Production values have gotten better, arguably the acting is better, but all of these have come at the expense of balls. None of the horror movies now are willing to offend any boundaries of taste. It should be the rebel genre. That's what makes horror special.

Horror movies, in general, do not have good stories, so they don't work on that level. They almost always rely on the characters acting like idiots, which turns me off.
