Horror movies keep getting better
Evan Fisher
Anthony Smith
i don't get it is he saying women were never in horror movies until recently
Kevin Gonzalez
Highlighting Us rather then Get Out completely exposes his retarded agenda. Also all of those movies were average at best.
Dominic Baker
Us has to be, without a doubt, one of the biggest pieces of shit ever. The ending absolutely fucking makes no sense. Unbelievable.
Carson Cooper
Was Saw the last good horror movie?
Blake Watson
I agree, it was soo laughable. But muh niggers.
Jack Murphy
Horror is still a shit genre, they just wrapped it in a cloak of faux-arthouse.
Dylan Wilson
>A black man on a movie
>noooooooo this is white genocide
Kayden Hughes
The new one with Elisabeth Moss isn't even trying to be arthouse at all but it will still be praised because Elisabeth Moss is an ugly but strong female lead.
Samuel Morris
>The ending absolutely fucking makes no sense.
what do you mean? It made perfect sense.
Thomas Ross
I dunno who the other three chicks are or what movies they were in. Their 15 seconds of fame must have been only that long.
Elijah Bell
It was the last first movie of a good horror series.
Carter Cox
I couldn't believe even the lukewarm-to-above-average response Us got. It was absolute dogshit.
Jordan James
Don't most horror movies have female protagonists?
David Phillips
Why do subhumans (blacks, women, soibois) find horror movies so exhilarating? None of that shit is real, and your brain knows it, so how does that rile you up? My gf loves it and I'm just bored because everybody is acting like retards.
True horror is kino like Chernobyl: Things that actually have happened and could happen again
Gabriel Lewis
Most of the memorable 80s horror films had females in various types of roles. It's Yas Forums retards that foam at the mouth whenever they read or hear "women", "female", or "girl".
Jayden Phillips
Zachary Jones
Soi horror destroyed the genre DUDE ATMOSPHERIC CHILLBURN AND NIGGERS
Carson Price
Pretty much every major horror franchise from Halloween to Scream has a female lead. Night of the Living Dead's two main protagonists were a woman and a black dude.
Luke Cooper
>horror was my least favorite genre until now, now I love it
>four favorite movies aren't horrors
makes sense
Blake Bennett
The ending was very straightforward and made perfect sense. What is it with people on this board and in general not understanding the easiest plot points? You should put away your shitty phone while watching movies, ffs
Liam Sanchez
say it with me:
I
HATE
WOMEN
Luke Foster
Its horror, fans of the genre don't care about that shit. They've had black dudes in major franchises since Night of the Living Dead. Fun fact, there were two black dudes in The Thing, we saw one survive and the other vanished without ever confirming he died. Horror has had black leads, female leads, and black female leads for years man. Horror got the first black major superhero movie. There have been transsexual protagonists and antagonists without ever implying one or the other is the default.
You know how media tried to memoryhole that Wonder Woman was the first big budget superhero movie? Think about that for an entire genre, get ready for a LOT of posts implying a white female lead being stalked by a white dude is revolutionary.
Blake Clark
Theres actually studies that show our brains still cant tell the things on the screen arent real. Hollywood knows this and thats why they jam all their propaganda into their movies, because our brains are dumb and register it as happening in front of us.
Im different though because i took a shitload of acid in college and it broke my brain and i cant into any media with full immersion.
Aaron Murphy
>So, how did Us end?
>Well it turns out that the dopplegangers are a government experiment!
>Alright.
>From the 80's.
>Uh.
>Who live entirely off rabbits.
>Wait but that wouldn't work, protein poisoning is a thing
>And mimic the movement of whoever they mimic up top!
>How the fuck does that work with them eating? Are there imaginary mimic microwaves to put the rabbits in that also kill them? Do they have to wait until a rabbit walks on top of an imaginary plate and hope they grab something knife-like to stab it? How do cars work, do they just sit there in the middle of the hallway and now are miles away from their mimic?
>And it turns out that the main villain is in fact, the real version! The one we've been following is the dopple!
>So then she could have left. She could just go home. Just get up and go back the way she came.
>Its so simple, clearly you're the dumb one for thinking except also this is a movie rich with themes so lets think about this!
Landon Martin
Horror I think is maybe juuuuust now starting to get back on track, but it was mostly in a shit position for that last decade.
Production values have gotten better, arguably the acting is better, but all of these have come at the expense of balls. None of the horror movies now are willing to offend any boundaries of taste. It should be the rebel genre. That's what makes horror special.
But now we live at a time where horeshit like
>Us
>It Follows
>Get Out
>A Quiet Place
All get praised as great leaps for the genre, when really they're flavorless dreck.
Noah Walker
My bloody valentine 3D was.
Kevin Cook
>find horror movies so exhilarating?
Main characters can actually die, and in fact probably will die. You know how superhero moves keep pretending the MC's are in danger, but then they never actually get seriously injured? So what's the excitement of seeing Captain America get shot at, we know he's going to be 100 percent fine. Well, with horror, main characters actually get killed, even someone like the MC of Nightmare on Elm Street dies in the third movie. Its fun seeing who lives and who dies in pretend without that nagging feeling that everyone's going to be fine so why should I worry, why should I care?
>None of that shit is real,
None of any of it is real, your pic is makeup effects. That actor is probably enjoying a nice steak right the fuck now, and you know it.
Camden Morales
Maybe I'm just autistic but when I watch movies like Friday the 13th or whatever, all I can think about is how stupid the people are acting and how they could solve the problems in five minutes. Or there's just no immersion and I think about how stupid the entire situation is
Angel Thompson
this.
Get Out is genuinely brilliant, US is insulting nonsense
Camden King
>So what's the excitement of seeing Captain America get shot at, we know he's going to be 100 percent fine
there isn't any. capeshit isn't exciting to me
>None of any of it is real, your pic is makeup effects. That actor is probably enjoying a nice steak right the fuck now, and you know it.
Yes but the situation itself (Chernobyl) happened before and could happen again. The horror lies in the fact that it isn't some supernatural thing that will never happen, but because it could happen again due to people being retards.
Ayden Johnson
>but it was mostly in a shit position for that last decade.
That's because after Cabin in the woods it became all about making fun of itself instead of taking itself seriously, why do you thing VVitch got so much praise? It wasn't revolutionary but at least it didn't spend half its run time being quirky.
Samuel Ward
>put black person in horror movie
>"GENIUS HERE ARE SOME OSCARS KILL WHITEY"
Christian Gonzalez
>capeshit isn't exciting to me
So literally only movies based on real events are exciting to you? I mean, okay, you do you, but one would think you'd like horror movies more than other genres in that case instead of saying "Subhumans" like them, there's a metric fuckload of horror movies based on real events. Did you know some sick fucker actually did make a mask out of human skin? That's probably happening right now too. Sure, nowadays its more likely to happen in africa, but fact of the matter is some dude could snap, kill someone with a chainsaw and make a people mask right the fuck now.
Parker Campbell
my guess is it has to do with personality traits like openness, personally i don't care for horror
Brody Young
None of these movies are good...
Eli Watson
Hutch is such a retard.
Jace Lopez
>So literally only movies based on real events are exciting to you?
Good stories are exciting and interesting to me. Not whether the guy in the spandex suit is going to die to the CGI villain du jour.
Horror movies, in general, do not have good stories, so they don't work on that level. They almost always rely on the characters acting like idiots, which turns me off.
The lack of real world stakes means they don't work from a horror aspect for me either.
Parker Hill
Lol. Us was retarded and BORING. Very obviously received accolades because Jordan Peele is black.
Jeremiah Morales
Like twitterfags care about that
Bentley Gray
yes
Brandon Gomez
Every single horror flicks aside from Evil Dead had female leads since they can scream
Michael Phillips
i dont think i will ever watch anything with a fucking scientologist in it. been sort of lucky so far, dont think i missed anything crucial. fuck elizabeth moss, uninteresting rotted brain rat.
Christopher Young
>muh mary sue that can kill every single person inside a family that is able to remove the soul of anyone they want is somehow brilliant
fuck off you fucking faggots.
that movie, just like your taste, is garbage
Hunter Reed
This is a problem I think a lot of modern movies are facing. There's too much meta horseshit. Sincerity has somehow become "corny" and stupid. It's why the MCU is so successful. Manchildren can pretend it's acceptable for them to be obsessive about kiddy shit because it makes fun of itself rather than embracing it.
Noah Collins
>Get Out is genuinely brilliant
How? I watched it and enjoyed it, but the plot was absolutely retarded. It Follows was miles better and it doesn't get nearly the same recognition, why?
Jackson Hernandez
Have you watched any good Horror movies lately? I've been looking for something similar to Hereditary, without the comedy-like ending.
Bentley Bailey
Yeah, "stellar shit" is the right phrase to use. Expensive as fuck and the russians did it better because they were broke as fuck.
Landon Collins
>I watched it and enjoyed it, but the plot was absolutely retarded
Did you notice uh, any other aspects other than the plot?
Noah Adams
It Follows is one of the best horror movies of the millennium. Absolute kino.
Jayden Ward
Horror films always had great acting perfomances, even in the 80s era of slasher.
A.Perkins in Psycho
Max von Sydow and Lee Cobb in Excorcist
Jack Nicholson and Duvall in the Shining
Mia Farrow in Rosemary's baby
Weaver and Biehn in Aliens
Arnie, Hamilton and Biehn in Terminator
Dreyfuss and Scheider in Jaws
Kurt Russell in the Thing
everyone in the Silence of the Lambs
C.Lee in Wicker Man
Goldblum in the Fly
And that's just the classics, that are indisputably better than the 4 mentioned by Hutch, especially the emotionless bitch from midsommar
Blake Perez
You'd think she'd know about Shelly Duval. The queen of ugly horror protagonists
Luis Harris
It's funny how horror movies were always a punching bag for critics but the film-makers discovered their weak spot of "diversity" and are now shoehorning all that SJW crap and are getting high scores, they're so predictable and easy to manipulate
Elijah Bennett
Oh and the Stephen King flicks
Easton Butler
Shelly Duval was cute
Connor Anderson
god I fucking hate all these nu-horror films they all suck cock and are the same shit. Plus I fucking hate the stupid fucking color filter they put over these new horror movies for MUH ATMOSPHERE. Get real nigga
Gabriel Clark
It Follows was trash. Plus the last quarter of that movie / the way the kill the monster is the lamest shit ever. new horror movies suck dick.
Ethan Adams
To this day there still hasn't been a horror movie as kino as The Exorcist or The Shining.
Brody King
It Follows is garbage.
Landon Roberts
Is this why I never heard of the lighthouse outside of this board? No female leads?
Sebastian Fisher
Pic related is the only director actually making good "horror," and that's only because of his extreme historical autism
Thomas Ortiz
>new horror movies suck dick.
Not all of them, but as a general rule if a horror movie gets high critical reception it's some feminist/soi shit
Mike Flanagan is better. Tbh Egger's movies are more like historical dramas
Zachary Thomas
