I can see where Guillermo del Toro's inspiration is coming from.
His reputation as one of the great raconteurs meant he would have been constantly eating and drinking the best stuff several nights a week at others expense. That plus a lot of inactivity while reading/writing.
TO FRIENDS HE'S KNOWN AS CHARLIE BUT HE PREFERS GOOD OLE MISTER KANE!
god damn how fat was he here?
Biggie Cheese
Fast food didn't exist, but normal restaurants did and he had plenty of money so he could have had plenty of fine dinning every day.
Also alcohol.
Joe Biden’s son Hunter
Fast food absolutely did exist in the 70s, zoom zoom.
When he was in his late teens and early twenties and making his name, he lived at an amazingly intense pace - he had several radio jobs whilst working at two theater companies. He used amphetamines quite a bit then and apparently ate huge amounts but burned it off. I guess as he got older he kept on eating but didn't burn it off.
Plus he did really like nice food.
>normal restaurants
>alcohol.
Bad food and laziness made that
Jodorowsky hired him the chef of a restaurant.

If you're constantly getting drunk and binge-eating you don't need mcdonalds to become a fatty. Man knew what he liked, food, booze, and women.

John madden
He enjoyed fine dining and just ate a lot by going to fancy restaurants. Iirc he once literally agreed to do one movie simply because the director promised he could dine at his favorite restaurant as part of his salary every day as long as he was shooting the movie.
Because they know otherwise they’d be dead at forty.
Ernest Hemingway.
Muahhhhh the french...emperor...

why? being that fat seems like it would put a damper on the fun of being rich.
Lots of good Welles restaurant stories out there.
e.g. One time during the shoot of Othello Welles was delayed getting to the location and told the crew to start a tab at the local restaurant. After a couple of days Welles arrives. "Let's go to dinner" he says.
The crew look worried. "The locals are really suspicious," they tell him. "They think we haven't got any money. (Because we haven't.) We've been trying to eat really cheaply but I don't think they're going to give us any more credit."
Welles: "Wrong psychology. If you try to economize of course they're going to be suspicious".
He strides into the restaurant and orders the most expensive stuff and tells everyone to do the same, and it's all smiles. The locals are reassured now, because of course if they're being extravagant the money has to be there, right?
I wonder how much of it was just Welles' charisma, though.
The price you have to pay for being relentlessly handsome is people seeing you getting older and fatter.
>did he became
