L'Argent. It ended kind of abruptly and why did the main character become a maniac who started killing people? The transition was abrupt too.

Is there such a thing as pseudo arthouse? basically mainstream type films that have deliberately taken on arthouse aesthetics but for the purpose of being artistic

Just watched this last night. Pretty kino

Inarritu, Cuaron. Nolan is also a pseud but not arthouse.

>Nolan is also a pseud
Not really.

Yes, really. Duping people into thinking he is making intelligent films, pretending that there is some complex yet the films are very simple.

Haven’t seen it yet. Thanks for fucking spoiling it. Literally waiting for it to arrive in the mail. Fuck you.

Kino or not?

do you guys remember this black and white image from a french movie with this solider(?) talking about premature ejaculation?
it was always posted years and years back with the caption "was it autism" or something

It was Czechoslovak. Closely Watched Trains.
I hope you are not serious. I feel terrible now.

it's a czech movie called Closely watched trains

Not really but it was on my list. You might have saved me some money though ;)

was it autism?

If i was collecting blurays i would want this in my collection. The film was pretty great. Probably my second favourite Bresson after A Man Escaped so far.

Was Broken Blossom unironically based? A White man was dressed as a creepy Asian man that abducts a white girl and does creepy shit to her.

Unironically black pilled. I was forced to watch this in college, and it made me really uncomfortable. But now I see... I see...

>Parasite
>Midsommar
>Joker

Pick one

stop posting this faggot

>Griffith
Yes, based

>one of the greatest if not the greatest Czech film ever made
Yeah

It's great. One of the most ahead of it's time films i have ever seen.

Now that we've got Come and See, Lancelot du Lac and Satantango, what's some other kino you want in BluRay?

Most of Angelopoulos' filmography, Werckmeister Harmonies

Hans Jurgen Syberberg's filmography. The DVD releases range from passable to looking like VHS transfers and some of it still isn't even available.

this

> Haneke
> All French Directors
> Fassbinder
> All mainland Chinese directors aside from Bi Gan
> Wong Kar-Wai
> Tsai Ming Liang
> Polanski
> Mann
> Lynch aside from Eraserhead and nightmare sequences
> Giallo
> Exploitation
> Female directors aside from Sofia Coppola and the bitch who made Of Body and Soul
> Peckinpah
> Sion Sono
> Takashi Miike

All terrible, immoral people who never should've been allowed to make a movie. Liking these means you've completely lost your moral attachment to the real world and live inside the world of "culture appreciation", an ivory tower of pedophilia, irony, genuine low intellect and misbegotten elitism.

You who like these are the same fucker who smoke, wear doc marten boots, talk in twitter memes and hate your parents. You're disgusting and I hope you all die. You deserve to.

you seem mad. did somebody hurt you?

>> All French Directors
Even Bresson?

It's about how money corrupts people.

Peter Hutton's filmography.

pretty based bro

Is Greer Garson a good actress?

Autumn Has Already Started (1960)
As far as I can tell there's no high quality copy of it available, though I don't know Japanese, so maybe they have one.
The movie is really good, especially if you're familiar with other Naruse films, but the only copy of it I could find was a disgusting 700MB file, not even worthy of the yify signature of quality.

we are about to watch the second half of Berlin Alexanderplatz by fassbinder over at cytu dot be/r/tv4c . a lil 8 episodes marathon

Yes but that doesn't really answer the abrupt psychological transformation.

Venecek, anebo rakvicku?

His adaptation of Beauty and the Beast is the gothic fairytale of my dreams

I can't get into Fassbender's work. I've only seen Lola and Veronica Voss, though. While they were entertaining in their own right - those colors in Lola! - I fail to see why he's held in such high regard. Can someone enlighten me?

>mainstream type films that have deliberately taken on arthouse aesthetics but for the purpose of being artistic
You mean Joker?

Watch Fear Eats the Soul

again with this? is this a mod posting this to keep the thread going or just some dumb ass acting the fool?

Berlin Alexanderplatz and World on Wire are his best works
Somebody fishing for (you)s

I'll keep an eye out for it.

So I have watched The Great King, A German propaganda movie made in the middle of WWII, I still do not understand what Goebbels was planing with it, The movie is pretty antiwar.

There is even a kiss between two woman with a lesbian joke.

>Berlin Alexanderplatz
I'll check that one out soon. It's up on YouTube but the quality isn't up to par. May subscribe to the Criterion Channel and check it out.

You could just torrent it

I don't torrent. Job requires a to of travel. I'd rather stream for now.

Oh yes i remember you

I have always under the impression that Lynch only uses "degeneration" (Prostitution, Drugs and violence) as a means to tell a story, How much extreme American society has become e.g Guns and obesity.
youtu.be/IGM6Gsi-U4c?t=37
>was planing with
Planning

>NOOOOOOO, YOU CAN'T JUST LIKE THESE DIRECTORS, THAT'S IMMORAL NOOOOOOOOOOOO

Watch World on a Wire. Like Matrix but better.

Yep. Recently saw Inland Empire and was totally taken by it. I wish he would have used the low-quality Sony camera for Twin Peaks The Return as originally intended. I loved the weird visual textures in the film.

Ani jedno

arthouse is a retarded word with everyone having different definiton of it. Films should be divided in "auteur cinema with mass appeal", "auteur cinema without mass appeal" and "studio flicks"

something something Jim Jarmusch

i watched this and it was absolute kino, Peter Watkins should get more attention.

Attached: 71OAKn1B4+L._AC_SL1265_.jpg (1000x1265, 142.43K)

Yes, he is absolute autist though. One of his docs/films is 12 hours and he refused to play it on some TV channel because they wanted to have some breaks in between iirc.

sounds unbelievably based

You should check out Asia Argento's Scarlet Diva if you like that standard def digital look. Marian Dora's stuff is also like that. I really like it as well and it feels like the early 21st century equivalent to the scuzzy and off-putting atmosphere 8mm film could provide.

Attached: scarletdiva805.jpg (1920x1080, 1.07M)

If you like Munch check out his other films too, they are interesting.

Speaking about Watkins does anyone have link to Freethinker from him? Some functional torrent or mega.
