I’m saying Americans cultural roots are in Puritan settlers to the americas, and those people would have no care about European culture. Idk, maybe the Amish have a similar celebration. Most Americans are very ignorant of the history of the old world and don’t have much perspective outside of pop culture and their experiences.

Lot of Americans have no idea that they have any culture as white people, even in Europe. They think there's maybe some children's stories and that's about it, so stuff like traditional holidays and rituals come across as completely deranged to them.

Plus if you're a medieval peasant, you had to survive as well. Americans weren't the only ones facing hunger and hardship before the industrial revolution. Liiterally any peasant struggled, no matter where you were.

There’s just a huge divide I imagine between Europeans and Americans. A lot of people don’t seem to understand just how amazing the discovery of the new world is. There isn’t thousands of years of civilized history here, and were taught briefly on world history outside of college, and only taught about Abrahamic faiths and Buddhism/Hinduism/Confucianism in school, briefly. So unless you go to college and really enjoy history, or you’re a history/religion buff you’ll be mostly ignorant. Not tryna condescend fellow Americans, just the way it is for the average person, especially girls.
