>What do you get when you cross a mintally ill loner with a society that abandons him and treats him like trash?
Do mintally ill people really call themselves mintally ill? This line felt really stilted because that does not sound like something a real person would actually say about himself.
Mentally ill people often understand themselves to be mentally ill, especially if they're as lucid as Arthur. Retards, however, will just continue to post on Yas Forums without realizing how retarded they really are.
Hunter Collins
Well I don't know if that's true because I'm worried about the coronavirus. They said it was just a flu, that it was only in China, but every day I hear of more and more cases, more and more deaths, it's spreading more and more in the US. People are in denial but it's getting worse and worse.
Ryan Morris
ok
Gavin Taylor
He was off his meds
Aaron Murphy
It's really only killing senior citizens... just like a normal flu
John Wright
not regularly. I'm depressed, and I don't, its not a part of my personality, its a curse. I think he did it here to make a point about his situation, and the writers did it to summarize his whole story from his perspective before the climax of the movie, because it was a hell of a punchline I didn't see coming.
Daniel Walker
this line killed the movie for me, sounds like a fucking kid
Alexander Collins
Retard
Dominic Evans
this. and its spread by droplets, its not airborne. literally wash your hands when you get home and you'll be fine.
Blake Hughes
It is an abnormal thing to say, but he is an abnormal person.

All the time. Not everybody taking meds thinks it's the CIA trying to brainwash them, there are plenty of people with a mental illness who have been diagnosed and have sought treatment.
Austin Ward
So if the government hadn't cut funding and taken him off his meds, he probably wouldn't have killed all those people, huh?
Samuel Phillips
Film seems kind of agnostic on that point. The dude's life was fucked in ways that went way beyond his access to a social worker.
Cooper Hernandez
mintally like mint?
Joshua Gomez
Gee, I wonder why a mentally stunted man without a formal education and can barely spell properly speak like this.
This site is undergoing an IQ drop like I've never seen
Liam Ortiz
fags are mentally ill with hearts full of envy and resentment.
Logan Adams
In case you're wondering why, r/gamersriseup just got banned so they're all flooding in to Yas Forums. >inb4 someone says "wow you sure know a lot about Reddit" Knowledge is not something to be ashamed of. You need to be aware of your surroundings to know why all these retards are flooding into Yas Forums.
Lucas Howard
But he was kept complacent when he had access to medications and mental health care (no matter how shitty it was) that allowed him to remain functional enough to maintain a job.
Landon Ramirez
>They said it was just a flu I keep reading this, what sources are you watching? from the beginning they were all serious and nobody said it was just a flu
Josiah Hernandez
I'm mentally ill and would call myself mentally ill. Taking medication for it and can still laugh about it. Didn't bother me when he said it in the movie.
The fact that he's giving a monologue explaining the movie itself is what really shows how shit the writing is
Christian White
Kinda like a tripcode?
Andrew Brooks
mentally ill loser here. Im 19 years old and i suffer from severe depression, severe social anxiety and have self harm tendencies and suicidal behavior. I call myself mentally ill because I hate myself so much. when my mom calls me out for my behavior (for example when I don't do a chore she asks me to do) I tell her it's not because I'm lazy or whatever, it's because I'm a mentally ill moron who can't get anything done. mental illnesses suck and they're no joke.
I loved the film overall, but hated this line. It was indeed really too self-conscious. I think it's possible to just rewrite it to get the point across without being so obvious about it.
Christopher Brooks
Most insane people know they’re insane
Dylan Martin
It's odd because the film otherwise has pretty solid dialogue, but it's like this particular line was specifically written to have a "quotable" line that school shooters would put in their manifestos. It's kind of fucked up.
James Baker
It depends on the severity of the mental illness. Mental illness is a broad category that means nothing more than "big range of patterns of culturally unacceptable behaviors that (in most cases) can't be legally punished".
I've known schizophrenic people who are lucid enough to understand that they are mentally ill and to recognize when they're on an unwelcome head trip. There are also bipolar and depressed people who will be very open about calling it a "mental illness".
Shit like ADHD/ADD, OCD, and other learning disabilities, however, are more context-dependent. Someone with ADHD might be a great football player, which is a context where no one will see them as mentally ill. However, if they act out in class because they're bored it will be seen as acting crazy or loopy by the authority figures they have to interact with.
John Clark
It’s said by a man who is retarded in the movie though. Pretty sure the talk show scene was supposed to sound juvenile and spontaneous
Nolan Powell
>Pretty sure the talk show scene was supposed to sound juvenile and spontaneous There was literally a scene where he was watching old Murray episodes planning what he was going to do and what he was going to say.
Ethan Hernandez
Did you miss the part where what he did and said were completely different from that. He went off the rails once he got there.
Landon Sanchez
It doesn't really matter how it was supposed to sound or any in-universe reason for why it would be acceptable for him to say it. It just sounded off to me and took me out of the film for a bit at its very climax. It didn't ruin the film, I loved it. But there is no need to justify its weak points.
Matthew Cook
I was specifically expecting him to go in and kill Murray, so I don't know how you missed that.
Asher Gutierrez
Media hype, highlighting the deaths and not showing how many more people recover from it. It's mainly the elderly who are dying from it, so relax. Even if you do catch it, you're most likely gonna recover, faggot.
Angel Evans
But WHY are people dying from what is supposedly just a flu? You're supposed to be able to recover from a flu.
Matthew Torres
Influenza kills like 10k-60k ppl annually u fkin shill
Kevin Taylor
The flu can kill you if you have a weak immune system. I.e. the elderly.

Joseph Lopez
It's not the flu, and tons of people die from the flu every single year.
Jose Allen
I wouldn't go so far as to deny it as I have servere OCD. People tend to go quite and seem sad when I've said in the past so it's not something I casually talk about.
Jordan Torres
Maybe they feel bad about it because they're the kind of people who say "I'm so OCD" about something when they don't actually have OCD. Real OCD is fucked up so I would probably also get quiet and sad if I met you.
Jackson Davis
Swine flu killed nearly 17,000 americans and over 500,000 worldwide. Coronavirus has much lower numbers at 11 Americans and what? 3-4 thousand worldwide so far? It also seems far less deadly with a much higher survival rate.
Caronavirus is basically being sensationalized by news media to get clicks. My news feed, for example, had something like 9 coronavirus fluff pieces (how to wash your hands, how to tell if you have it, what to do, etc) a small handful of actual news stories related to the topic (literally 2, one mentioning to total death toll and another saying 1 American died from it on that particular day) and 1 non coronavirus news story.
It's fucking insane IMO. Live your life in fear and keep clicking those news stories.
If swine flu happened now. Instead of back then, they'd have you convinced the world was literally ending.
Zachary Torres
A majority of mentally I'll people have some idea something is off about them, but very few openly admit it. Most don't realize the extent of their problems and lots of them don't even realise anything is wrong at all. In all honesty, a mentally ill person will often think themselves to be perfectly sane.
Jayden Parker
Fucking child. Don't blame your worthlessness on 'mental illness', just admit your problems are your fault and work on them instead of making excuses not to do anything. Plenty of people have been through what you're going through, it's called being a fucking teenager. Get over it.
Bentley Garcia
Big shoutout to GamerGate and the 2016 election for bringing in boatloads of newfags who never even bothered to lurk
Ryan Lopez
>Do mintally ill people really call themselves mintally ill? It really depends on the individual. Most mentally ill people are aware that there is something wrong with them (even if they don't know what it is specifically) but whether they'll call themselves such is like if someone would call themselves sick if they have a minor cold.
James Martin
It's the normie mutts shitting up the joint
Brandon Myers
Well coronavirus has two things that amplify the hell out of it. First, it came at the perfect time to pacify the masses. When distrust of systems was at a peak and we watched the most divisive president get off without a single witness called, the ones that run things needed a distraction. Even better if they could get one that scares people and makes them look to daddy government for guidance. Coronavirus fit like a glove there.
And two, it is killing pretty much exclusively baby boomers. The only group that votes in big numbers, owns stock, owns property, and fills every non-wagie job. They need us to buffer them from dying. When kids and young people get it it's a mild cold for a few days. It's not killing any of them. But boomers drop. So once again the powers that be need to convince us to protect them. And people are swallowing that bullshit too.
Everyone is fucking stupid and we're getting the huge dick up our ass we deserve for being so stupid. It's not like I'm an insider. I just actually read up on things instead of trusting Twitter and the evening news.
Thomas Young
No they don't. Only high functioning psychopaths know they're insane.
Jaxon James
it depends on the illness. People with schizophrenia are very aware of their problem
Dominic Hernandez
Yeah we do. The worse your situation is, the more you'll notice it.
Ethan Sanders
Stop shilling for big corona
Zachary Allen
It's weird that people are now scared of Corona beer because of the Coronavirus. I don't know why it's called Coronavirus, isn't that the Spanish word for sun?
Camden Evans
>mintally u wot m8
Isaac Scott
mental health is fake bullshit invented my libtards to shove you in a cookie cutter and turn you into a productive goy. not a fitting piece for the puzzle of capitalism, goyim? better self-improve and start sawing away at your authentic self until you fit.
