What's that one kino you can watch over and over again and still be entertained by? For me, it's Hot Fuzz. I must have seen this 30+ times and I still enjoy it every time.
What's that one kino you can watch over and over again and still be entertained by? For me, it's Hot Fuzz...
helps that the first 3-4 times you see details you havent seen before..then the next 3 times after that you appreciate those details..
The Big Lebowski. It goes from not making sense, to making sense, back to not making sense with each viewing.
>You murdered him?!
>He murdered Shakespeare
>What? Oh.
The Young Pope.
>Martin Blower represented damn near the whole village. You want us to go flippin' through the bleedin' phonebook?
>Yeah, put in a call to Aaron A. Aaronson?
People will hate me but it’s La La Land
Obligatory mentioning of the mummy.
Predator, ginger snaps 1, Terminator 2, Casino royale and the departed
>well well well if it isn't my good friend Benny
>...I think I'll shoot you now.
Movies not much, if I know the plot points and the pacing crawls at any point, only rewatch after a year or so, but OP, and most of Wright's flicks are a very good choice.
Probably rewatched Futurama a dozen times, Gen Kill closely follows, Futurama is timeless and full of little details and great jokes, and Gen Kill somewhat satisfies my need for broship and comradery, recommendations for something that scratches the same itch would be highly appreciated.
Commando. I have seen it so many times since I was a little kid. Never gets old. Theres just somethin about Arnold goin on a rampage and spouting one liners that is always entertaining
We'll never have someone as based as prime Arnie.
>Google Conan to find a good pic.
>Turns out there was another movie in 2011 with Mammoa at the helm.
Christ, nothing is sacred.
Do yourself a favour and NEVER watch the one with Mommoa. It's fucking awful.
It's been over a decade and still nothing comes close. Best genre parody movie ever in my opinion
Watched it 5 times in a row one day
>Futurama
The Futurama box set is one of the best investments I've ever made. Watched them so many times, with and without the commentaries.
I'd say Garth Marenghi's Darkplace comes close when it comes to spoofing 80s horror
i rewatch The Thing a couple times a year
Hot Fuzz is overrated. It's a typical "le brit dry humor amirite XDD" movie with little in the way of any even remotely funny gags. The whole schtick basically boils down to:
>character 1: *does/says something stupid
>character 2: "Why'd you say/do that?! That's so stupid!!"
It's a circlejerk for mutts to act all sophisticated because jizzing your diapers at "le clever brit sacrcasm amirite bros XDD" makes them think they look like they are high IQ gentlemen with deep understanding of comedic timing, which is very scarce in this movie. And Brits don't know the first thing about comedy so ofcourse they would love flaming trashcans like this. All in all, a very mediocre movie that is essentially the Rick and Morty of live action comedy films, doesn't deserve a fraction of the praise it gets.
based af
Goodfellas
The Ninth Gate
The Thing
this user is correct. I tried to watch it. After Arnold is "training" as a kid, running with an egg in his mouth and cries over Ron Pearlman's death, I gave up
I occasionally revisit Futurama but once every 3 months I binge a shit tonne of classic Simpsons episodes and laugh my ass off. It never gets old.
No matter how many times I rewatch it I'm amazed how the writers researched and backed up the scientific jokes and plot points, in the fucking early 2000s, or straight up hid absurd shit behind even cleverer jokes, for a show set a 1000 years ahead it really doesn't require much suspension of disbelief.
And god damn did it have a few gems of episodes.
I pray to god you don't watch Disenchantment.
>No fun allowed.
What is visual comedy?
>t. watches big bang theory
this
>I pray to god you don't watch Disenchantment
I watched all 20 episodes unfortunately hoping it would get better... it didn't. Matt Berry's character was funny and there were probably 3 good episodes. The rest was dogshit though.
Dog Soldiers. Every time is so fucking good.
Easily
Bad Boys II
Quite an experience to live in fear isn't it?
Pure kinography. I think I slightly prefer the original to the sequel, but they're both great.
>tfw no more Guy Ritchie kino.
>Jason Statham will never make good movies again
hes making a new movie tho.
was the gentleman shit?
The ending of Hot Fuzz is pure kino. HF is an example of movie that builds perfectly towards it's final act. Can't knock it. Having written that, though, I only watch the ending for this film.
when i smoke this weed it makes me feel...LIKE A GRANDMAS BOY.
The Mummy (Brendan Fraser one) was a fun movie. Can't knock it but not a movie that I'd watch over and over again. Still, fun movie.
Fifth Element
Commando is a fun movie, absolutely no doubt. A bit on the aged side at this point but the number of continuity flaws alone makes it a hoot for anyone watching it for the first time. And the Freddie Mercury villain? They just don't make those sort of movies anymore...
I could watch Point Break as often as I watch Hot Fuzz OP.
The Nice Guys. I don’t even know why, when it’s your bog standard Shane Black movie, there’s just something about it that’s so well-crafted
The whole movie is funny though.
Martyrs. Never fails to cheer me up.
Didn't like it until the final act.
i once watched Jurassic Park every day for a year.
Yes, the whole movie is funny but the entire movie builds up towards the ending. The ending is good all on it's own but all of the callbacks that the ending depends upon for that extra kick makes the ending super awesome.
The Thing
Fifth Element was so underrated at the time of release. I'm glad that it has the cult following that it does. I don't think that it's a perfect film but, compared to Valerian, FE's story is so much tighter and focused. I loved the visuals of Valerian but FE is currently the best Luc Besson sci-fi film.
As much as I love The Thing (1982), it isn't a film that I can watch 'whenever.' It has to be around Halloween / Winter, that time of year. Once Spring comes around, I'm just not in the mood.
Having written that, though, The Thing was either the 1st or 2nd DVD that I ever owned (I can't remember if Dark Crystal was 1st or not).
The Big Lebowski and the Blues Brothers are the most rewatchable movies. Also the best movies ever made.
This. I remember laughing out loud at the same jokes for at least the first 8-10 times watching it. It's my second favorite movie.
That movie is so underrated, it's epic kino!
>You always have more balls than brains
I feel like this movie is for highly unobservant people or people just getting into film. I see this sentiment regarding replay value everytime it's brought up and the examples are highly obvious shit. I mean to each their own but I will never understand Hot Fuzz. It felt like incredibly lazy parody.
It was the #1 movie in the America and world release. What the hell are you talking about?
Scarface
Kill Bill
Jurassic Park
Pitch Black. Fucking love that movie.
I'M A SLASHER AND I MUST BE STOPPED
What a stupid fucking opinion
based
I deeply enjoy the opening scene of that movie. Vin's grumbling as he analyzes his fellow passengers is kino.
>part of you stays awake during hyper sleep
>the animal part
>that's why I'm still awake
Nothing beats the feeling of fighting off some guys with the carcass of a buck.
