The reason he hasn't been caught is that there is no DNA and that noone actually saw his face. Even the witnesses that passed him, noted that the lower half of his face was covered with a scarf and that he wore a hat. All we can say from one witness is that the guy's a manlet.

dead skin is very unlikely to be found, you need a fairly substantial sample to get decent DNA, that's why most of it is cum or blood. A few dead skin flakes that can hardly be differentiated from dust would not be very good evidence even if it was found.

even if you aren't a shut in, unless you leave completely obvious evidence or dna it's fucking hard to solve a random murder. the reason most murders get prosecuted is because most murder is done to and by people that know each other. random murder is very rare and a lot of them are unsolved

yeah but what they are saying is true about "muh small town everyone knows each other". If he was someone with any kind of social life or interaction with the outside world at all someone could have noticed the timing of the killing compared to his location. For example he's usually at work since it was a monday morning but he stayed home or he mentioned to someone that he was going hiking. The cops would follow up on all of that shit after being starved for a lead for so long but a loner autist no one would register their routines.

that's true but the odds of a regular guy getting away with a random murder are much lower than a guy that barely anyone even knows exists. I don't think they even need it, there are other DNA databases that willingly give their data to the police, and according to what I read about the process they only need the genetic information of around 2% of the population to be able to identify almost every single person in the country.

If they do find your hair (and you get caught) your lawyer can argue it's circumstantial since there is also hair from a couple dozen other individuals. You're also hampering the police investigation by forcing them to spend more time and resources analyzing the hair and looking into all the other people.
