Its on a platform I dont watch. It sounds like I'd watch it.

old bald fuck
his show suck
politically correct
he can't even get erect

stop talking about yourself user, this thread is about picard

it's not star trek

It’s much better than STD and that angers the feminist

and yet it is you
that talks like a tard

shows better than them both
for days on end I could list

It lacks the formula of old Trek that fans wanted back after Abrams movies and Discovery not being very good alternatives. New stories but keeping with the tradition of a hopeful future with moments of morals being tested.

Picard is a bumbling buffoon. The plot moves very slowly. It seems that the entire plot could've been resolved by people simply talking to one another. Soji is a garbage character. The pilot is a good actor but a garbage character. The researcher is a garbage actress and a garbage character. The Romulans are worthless garbage characters. Only the incest lady is sort of interesting.

I like Elrond even though he serves no purpose. I like the drug addict black lady. I liked Hugh. Seven of Nine has been the best part of the show so far and she's coming back. There's a lot to look forward to.

I don't have a problem with it.

The fucking Borg need to wake up and start assimilating those god damned Romulans.

>Paying for tv or movies in 2020
Never give jews money. They become dependent.

It's not good enough to be this slow paced. It's a campy scifi show with shit CGI, shit sets, shit costumes and shit acting. Move on with the stupid robot war plot already.

I dont have one Im just sort of uninterested despite being a star trek fan I was initially happy to be returning to the 24 century but it just doesnt really feel the same and ive been overloaded by drawn out tv shows and movies at this point

fantastic actress, no wonder she scored a double-role

Cruddy snuffest
Just more "stwong wooman" junk. They don't even try to make any of it work, they just want browny points and throw that shit in there

look into her sloe eyes and explain more please.

Would you give her an eskimo kiss?

Utter garbage that has absolutely nothing to do with Star Trek.

well no I'm sorry its not up to "star fleet protocols"- do you even get the premise my good man?

>star trek

It shits on the established universe, it transforms Picard from a respectable authority figure into a confused retard, the acting manages to be below amateur level (the one flashback scene with Ruffy in particular was painfully bad. It looked like they both just read line from set cards without trying to hide it).

Only actors so far who look like they give a shit about any of that are the guy who plays Ryos (who is essentially a Firefly character) and the appaerance of Marina Sirtis and Jonathan Frakes, who both bring something in the show was especially missing, like, you know, charisma.

I don't get it. Picard transformation already happened in TNG movies, this is nothing new.

She honestly looks like my sister if she was pale

>Picard suddenly an asshole towards android
>Android suddenly acts like an android this episode
>she tilts just like DATA!
Nostalgia does not make for a good episode.

Attached: 1520107655716.png (644x800, 14.64K)

Im not work from home wine aunt
This show is not for me

And those movies are terrible.
Picard 2020 is nothing like TNG Picard. It is a spinoff show about a character that completely changes the character. Might as well be about someone else entirely, but the show is banking on nostalgia. Then there is the shitty writing, nonsensical plot, charisma void supporting characters, bad acting and terrible worldbuilding. Instead of taking the previous decades of Star Trek as a template to work with they threw everything out and made a mindless 'action' generic sci-fi shitfest. If it didn't have the Star Trek™ brand it wouldn't have been made at all.

Picard acts nothing like his character

What does Picard offer to someone who actually enjoyed TNG user?

The show, the characters and the universe feel nothing like TNG. It's the same as TLJ's handling of Luke, they drag out an old and beloved character, change them completely and put them in a setting that makes NO sense alongside the old one and, if you ask why the character is so different - often in ways that are polar opposites of their original character traits, you just get told that they changed off screen and it's been a long time, don't think about it.

Agreed 100%. People have Kurtzman Derangement Syndrome. Picard and Starfleet were on these trajectories in the 90s.

The Dominion War and the events of First Contact and Nemesis changed shit. This show is remarkably consistent with where things left off.

SHUT THE FUCK UP

Picard in the movies:
Actionhero, but still respectable authority figure

Picard in Picard:
Old confused pussy

TNG movies have the same problems as Picard. ST isn't supposed to be dumb action shows, but due to sycophants worming their way into production and retards like you defending any slop thrown your way with a coat of Trek paint on it that's what we have. Dumb, pointless action, meaningless stories, vapid plots, and characters no one likes.

I don't think it all that good. Ninja Romulan clashes with the mood of the show quite a bit and I'm not sure why does he exist. Incidentally, I don't think spending half a season on gathering a team only to leave them for some other guy is a good plot structure.

I don't really care about Star Trek, so I don't complain about departures from TNG, but I'm sure they are bad as well.

>Seven of Nine has been the best part of the show so far
History repeats then?
Eh, maybe I´ll give that shit a whirl then.

The writing is pretentious. I know this gets thrown around all too frequently, but I mean it for this show. It is in love with seeming dramatic and ambitious, but it lacks any groundbreaking ideas. It masks its shallowness with a plodding pace and awkwardly cryptic storytelling. I appreciate slow burns, but the material has to warrant it, and it should be details oriented. ST Picard is not.
I don't need Star Trek to be Star Trek. I honestly don't care if it fits with prior canon. This show is middling on its own.

They literally can not stop killing off every returning character they have. It's the laziest most disrespectful way of generating "drama" they could possibly do.
I am fully expecting Riker's kid (or Troi) to get killed off just because that's all they know. The preview already hinted at Seven dying next (looks like a heroic sacrifice).

That and it's so fucking slow, it took like 6 episodes just to assemble a crew. Six episodes! Why the fuck couldn't they have squeezed that into 1? I struggle to think what happened in the past 7 hours that could not have easily been condensed into 2.

Don't get your hopes up, she was in it for all of 15 minutes of one episode.
Looks like she's returning in the next though.

His son is writing a Spider-man comic and is literally doing the same thing. The little fucker begged his dad to buy his way into it, only to write the equivalent of Ben 10 self insert fanfiction. I think the Abrams clan has some sort of mental deficiency that makes them fundamentally misunderstand everything

Yeh, I know it´s a fucking shit-show since I saw Icheb´s kill-off.
If they do the same to 7 in the next ep, I´m not even going to bother pirating it.

It's called judaism.

>killing a side character in the most gory way you can on tv because you disagree with the actors private political views
Yes this is a good way to run a network. I'm sure this show will stand the test if time like TNG when the narrative shifts

What are his views?

It does not feel like Star Trek. I don't feel like I'm watching Captain Picard again, it feels like I'm watching an elderly Patrick Stewart play an old man in some other unrelated edgy space show.

Also they keep killing every returning character, I don't know if there's been an exception yet.

He defended boy-fucker Kevin Spacey, like 99% of the rest of Hollywood.
So I don´t buy THAT excuse either, the assholes responsible for Dicard very likely would like to suck Spacey dick too.

I think he talked shit about Kevin Spacey accusers very early on in that story's development, like in a "no way he would do that, these people must be lying for attention" sort of way.

Hint: Star Trek was always junk, you are only seeing the problems in the new ones because you didn't consume it since forever.
There is nothing wrong with it in moderation, I love me some pizza, but it is what it is.

Clueless millennial bastards like you are the reason I don´t even give a flying fuck about my old Trek anymore.
You don´t deserve a positive vision of the future, you´d find a way to fuck it up anyway.

Communism died because it also started as a grandiose vision of the future that was impossible in reality.
Capitalism was a slower unfolding mess of the same type. We expected TOS, and reality will be Ready Player One.
At least we will get catgirls.

>ou don´t deserve a positive vision of the future, you´d find a way to fuck it up anyway.
I want 90's-00's Sci-Fi again. This dystopian shit needs to die fast.

Attached: ss buttcrack.gif (266x200, 1.32M)

It's shit.

but I grew on Heston dystopian kino

They botched this post-Dominion War/Shinzon environment where Starfleet is more militarised and the ascendant power. Shit like 'SHEER FUCKING HUBRIS' and all the bitterness and cynicism is so at ends with the tone of Star Trek

Imagine if someone like Hugh was part of Picard's crew. Honestly, he's a character that had so much potential and he was completely wasted.

Essentially. He's too damn feeble because of his age. He lacks that authoritativeness and strength Picard projected. It's like Picard has been lobotmised, or replaced by the alternative reality blue shit Picard.

Should have been a Riker show with a cameo from Picard.

Attached: Saves what's left of Trek.jpg (301x282, 47.49K)

>what is your problem with Picard?
The show is named after someone who isn't the main character.

Attached: JL can still win.jpg (1020x608, 300.21K)

The whole thing doesn't hold.
The plastic props can be excused, because back then it was modern. ESP too, parapsychology was taken more seriously when TOS was made.
I will ignore FTL, because otherwise the series should be made with seaships. That wouldn't be bad, but it was to supposed to be in SPESS.
The parallel totally-not-Earths are ridiculous. The (retconned) oxygen generates human likeness is absurd. Transporters cannot exist. The more time passes the more unacceptable it is, because science marches on (Fermat says hi).
Star Trek is a magical corpse, that becomes ever rotten without decaying into bones and dust.
