Yang's biggest problem is that he lied about his "math" and marketed UBI the same way Obama marketed Obamacare. UBI as a concept is to literally do away with all forms of subsidies and replace them with a single, non-negotiable paycheck from the government. If you don't eliminate things such as medicare or even farmer subsidies, then the added strain of a monthly paycheck will send the price of goods skyrocketing, and would effectively devalue the dollar to nothingness.
