I applied to CBR.com recently. I work as a freelance writer, mainly for online finance sites. I figured I'd check it out and see if I could plug out a couple for extra cash.

The pay for freelancers is dog shit. I'm talking $20 for 1,000 word articles, $30 for 2,000 words, $5 for a 200 word piece, etc. I don't know how these people eat. Your average stock-picking site will usually pay in the $0.15 to $0.20 per word range.

The Slack group is a real laugh. The writers are just the kind of basic bitch hacks that you would expect.
