Sydney looks nice on a postcard but fuck me the traffic there made me want to kill myself and the rent was unbelievable
Brisbane isn't as photogenic but it's still nice and way more livable (at this point in time at least)

as for my city (pic related), it's a solid 7/10. comfy weather 9 months out of the year, beautiful architecture, good transportation, clean beaches/waterfront.

biggest downsides are extreme inequality and third world-level street violence, but that only happens in like 40% of the city. the other 60% is top tier
