>szczecin
how are you even supposed to pronounce this?

you tell us, it's your country

if you saw a pre ww2 population map, you'd see that half of the eastern-polish territories weren't even polish, but rather inhabited by ukrainians and belarusians. some parts of it were polish, but not all of them were
see this map: polska1918-89.pl/photos/sklad-narodowosciowy-ii-rp-wedlug-spisu-ludnosci-z-1931-r.-,3455.jpg

the new western lands have valuable ports, the lands lost to ukraine and belarus had a shitton of natural gas that we could exploit nowadays too and sell to westoids, so i'm not sure about the economic benefit
if we had kept the area around lwów we would've had to deal with ukrainian insurgencies for many years to come though, unless we kicked them all out to the soviet union, which wasn't really feasible

If you're not baiting, here is a mnemonic some user told me: Poles are red at the bottom because they are eternally butthurt

lol no. The only good parts of Poland are the ones that used to be german

that's completely wrong though
warsaw is the richest part of the country, kraków is second
meanwhile lubuskie and warmińsko-mazurskie (formerly german) are the poorest regions of the country lmao

sorry for not attaching the pic to my post, but i can't post images

What's with this corridor? Seems strange

there was some settlement there, mazovia (the region around warsaw was overpulated in the middle ages because it was so prosperous, so a lot of people migrated eastwards)
also lithuanians were catholics (as opposed to belarusians and ukrainians) so a lot of them adopted polish language/culture because that language was used in churches and in schools

>shch
doesn't help

Do you see that region as rightful Polish clay?

no not really
the original inhabitants of that city were kicked out to poland and the city itself was repopulated with people from other parts of lithuania, but it was the historical lithuanian capital for centuries before it became culturally polish
they can keep it for all i care
poland during the partitions had a similar situation: gniezno and poznań were the original capitals of this country, the places where poland started, but they ended up being under german rule (even though they still had a majority polish population even after the partitions)
the germans wanted to keep it, but the poles did an uprising and forced it to become a part of poland, and that was right, because it's the core of our country
just like vilnius is the core of lithuania

Massive cope. Warsaw was part of Prussia for a long time and Krakow was ruled by austrians

I'm not Polish but from what I've heard from other Poles they don't really care for Pomerania, but they do care for Danzig and Upper Silesia like crazy. I've also heard that they'd rather have their pre-1939 borders rather than communist ones.

With respect to Prussia, I can't imagine why any Pole would let Germany keep their exclave there, especially when it was the support base for the Nazi party. I suppose if they had to choose between Germany having it and Russia having it they would probably let Germany have it given today's current political climate, but I think they'd rather just take it for themselves, or let Lithuania have it if nothing else.

warsaw was a part of prussia for 14 years
kraków was ruled by the austrians for like 120 years, it retained a high degree of autonomy though and the austrians even permitted the people there to use their national dresses and use their language in school there

No

I doubt anyone would seriously advocate for getting it back now, but that region is very deeply engrained in Polish culuture. Lots of famous artists, poets, writers, and musicians where born in East. Many folk tales and songs refer to the Eastern land as Ukraina.

No because Ukraine and Belarus won't give up their land

Congrats you found the cause of WW2.

Okay, sorry. Warsaw is actualy russian and Krakow is german.
>it retained a high degree of autonomy though and the austrians even permitted the people there to use their national dresses and use their language in school there
lol irrelevant.

he literally highlighted the corridor in lithuania, not the one next do gdańsk/danzig
the lithuanian one most certainly wasn't the cause of ww2

Danzig has been Polish for much longer than Kraków has been Austrian, my friend ;)

No we would give up eastern poland for free

>Longer than kraków
no?

I'm gonna be honest here

I didn't open the image. I read corridor and thought he meant the polish corridor

first of all poland is german austrian and russian second of all poland shouldn't exist

But before WW2 Danzig was 98% German and 1% Polish

Stetin

Mutt opinion, I know, but I think Germany should get their pre-1939 borders back, excluding Prussia which should go to Poland. But Poland should get their eastern territories back, excluding Vilnius which should go to Lithuania.

Yes lol. Gdańsk has been a part of Poland for 559 years now. That's not counting the years where it was a part of "Ducal Prussia" (so a vassal of Poland) or the years of WW2 where it was under German occupation. If you counted those, the number would be even higher.
Meanwhile, Kraków was under Austrian rule for around 120 years.

Yes, and? The Brazilian was trying to prove that Warsaw and Krakow aren't Polish because they were under foreign occupation for some time. Well, I guess Gdańsk is rightfully Polish then, because it was under Polish rule for around 5 times as long.

why did belarus steal polish land?

i would give western pomorenia mazovia and lubusz for exchange for lwow and wilno
i know

Yes I would Wilno and Lwów has way more culture than some fucking Szczecin lmfao.

Culture is what matters. Would sacrifice the Polesie with all those illiterate ukrainians living there though.
