Invasion of Poland was necessary to secure the mostly ethnic German city of Danzig, they had to invade Western Europe for obvious reasons, to stop any assault on Germany from the Anglos. And the attack on Russia was a pre-emptive strike as the Russians were preparing to invade, as laid out in the book "Icebreaker" by Suvorov.

In America nowadays, "Hitler" isn't so much a person as much as it is a title. Pundits all across the political autism spectrum like to apply this title to whatever they hate and want to demonize (or I suppose like and want to lionize if we're speaking of the alternative/fringe-right). In late 2016 and early 2017 I've seen leftists use the term "Hitlerian" unironically when describing the President even though he arguably sucks more Jew dick than any of his predecessors.
