what are some interesting animals from your country?

Axolotl is an amphibian living in Mexico
this entire species has genetically damaged thyroid and can't procude hormones needed to evolve from larva stage to full grown salamander
it lives it's entire life as a larva and learned to have sex and reproduce as a larva, lives underwater life a fish with legs
but the full grown form has not disappeared and can be achieved if human artifically delivers the thyroid hormones to it
then it changes the appearance entirely and looks like a lizard and can breathe with air.

Poles are truly the beaners of Europe

It's a proxy. I assume any European or Mexican flag that says anything positive about the United Shitstains is the same.

i'm polish
i was just asking about interesting animals from other countries

I don't think we have any endemic animals. Only some plants. I think it's because we were covered with 1-3 km thick ice for 100 000 years that ended just 10k years ago and it's effects are still seen today.

Not unique to us but you can only find the Arctic Fox (Fjällräv) in the arctic regions of the world.

THE AXOLOTL IS NOT THYROIDALLY ATROPHIED, BUT, RATHER, IT IS AN OVERLY NEOTENOUS SPECIES; THE FACT ITSELF THAT IT IS SEXUALLY FUNCTIONAL, AND COMPLETE IN EVERY SENSE, IS EVIDENCE THAT IT IS, NEITHER: GLANDULARLY DEFICIENT, NOR IN A PERPETUAL LARVAL STATE.

OK
THANK YOU FOR YOUR INPUT

can you keep it as a dog?

Thanks, sadly you cant keep them as pets, chilean laws are very harsh with exotic pets, for example you cant practice falconry or own a falcon, etc.
Pudús do not interact socially, other than tomate. An easily frightened animal, the deer barks when in fear. Its fur bristles and the pudú shivers when angered.
Predators of the pudús include thehorned owl,Andean fox,Magellan fox, cougar, and other small cats

Sorry if I have any grammatical mistakes

What do you all think about submerging M*xico C*ty in lake Texcoco, so these cute critters can drive and live free again?

>They are among the most endangered seals in the world, having a total population of only about 400 individuals.[2] The only existing population of these seals is found in Lake Saimaa, Finland (hence the name). They have lived in complete isolation from other ringed seal species for around 9,500 years and have diverged into a morphologically and ecologically different subspecies of ringed seal.

Seriously, how the fuck did evolution fail this hard? How did generations upon generations of lizards with a damaged thyroid manage to reproduce?

They make their home from snow, a little snow igloo on the ice during winter. But as winters get warmer their snow igloo sometimes melts and collapses on them and suffocates them. So they might go extinct

Why not build them artificial igloos?

I had a pet one and it never died. I wanted it to die.

We already do that.

wtf take this seal out of this glass box!

The resplendent quetzal is the national bird of Guatemala because of its vibrant colour, that also represent the Guatemalan people.

Quetzals have iridescent green or golden-green wing coverts, back, chest and head, with a red belly. They are strongly sexually dimorphic, and parts of the females' plumage are brown or grey. These largely solitary birds feed on fruits, berries, insects and small vertebrates (such as frogs). Even with their famous bright plumage, they can be hard to see in their natural wooded habitats.

The name quetzal is from Nahuatl quetzalli [keˈt͡salːi], "large brilliant tail feather" (American Audubon Dictionary) or "tail coverts of the quetzal" (Merriam-Webster's Collegiate Dictionary), from the Nahuatl root quetz = "stand up" used to refer to an upstanding plume of feathers.

It is also known as a symbol for Palestinian freedom, dubbed طائر الحرية الفلسطيني (Palestinian Freedom Bird) because its colors represent those of the flag of State of Palestine.

The lemming is a vole living in the mountains. When there's a good lemming year about half the population migrate and die so that the remaining lemmings should make it through the winter.

When I was young we had a goldish looking one. It died around when I began high school. I liked doing the finger chase thing with it because it swam like a fucking wanker

We have lyrebirds, which are known for being really good at reproducing sounds from the environment. Watch this video here and you'll see what I mean youtube.com/watch?v=C0ZffIh0-NA
