My family are goat farmers (fromage producers) and we tried to eat one one day, she was hurt and couldn't produce any milk it had a very bad taste and since goats were skinny there wasn't even enough food to feed the family
And male goats, they smell like shit specially during autumn, it's like sheep or bull meat but with an extremly strong smell and taste, they piss in their mouth to arouse the females btw

LOL did _not_ know this. We probably got used to the smell I guess. I haven't had it in years, but my dad and grandpa love it.
Normal male goats are called _bokas_ here ( they smell ) while castrated ones (_khasi_) are the ones that are ate. In the far-western mountains, the higher caste groups still refuse to eat anything other than goat.
I don't think we consume much goat milk here. It's mostly from cows and buffaloes
