Do americans really leave their parents at 19 or 21yo to fly 9999 kms away and stay there for the rest of their lifes with no family ties and just a few "friends"?

To me, coming from a very familiar country (every day is lowering tho) and despite being quite the lonely and apathic guy is hard to think that way.

I was on my own at 18, but I also didn't have parents.

who raised you? A rat from the sewers?

If you walk outside and take one step in any direction you'll have traveled (earth's radius - 1 step) in the opposite direction

i got kicked out at 18 so yeah. havent spoken to them since then.

>A rat from the sewers

Never knew dad, mom died at 6. Then my grandparents, but grandmother died a year later. Grandfather remarried, but he died when I was 10. The lady he married raised me until I was 12, then my uncle until I was 18.

I should note that my grandfather and uncle weren't blood related. Grandfather was my moms step-father and the uncle was his son, so my mothers step-brother.

jesus, what happens in your family? do you have the lifespan of a cat?

Well my mother was killed by her drunk boyfriend at the time. Grandmother died by I assume kidney failure or something, she was always in dialysis, and grandfather by a stroke on Christmas morning.

In NA it is expected that at some point in your life you'll have to move for work, mainly if you are looking to improve your quality of life.
Moved into my own place at 18 and haven't lived with my parents since. Still have good relations with my family though and it is basically expected that we help each other out if we have any issues (liquidity, home repairs)

Sorry to hear that user.
What do you do now, if you don’t mind my asking? Did you make it out?

What do your parents think about that?

>flag
22 y and still live with my parents, i just got my own room when i was 20 or 21 maybe... yeah we dont move here because everyone here is poor

What is your skin color bro ?

Electrical engineering. I also own a few houses.

Very pale, believe it or not.

>and grandfather by a stroke on Christmas morning

fuck, that sucks, what do you do for a living?

Most Americans never move out of their home state except to attend University or to suck Government Cock in the military.

Really puts my privileged situation into perspective. All the future best user, you're resilient

Damn Alex got fat
But its common to move to big cities.

see Thank you, but you don't need to feel too bad for me. I got a large life insurance payout from my moms death when I turned 18, though the uncle I mentioned was stealing from it while I was under his guardianship.

I kind of feel like we're in the middle as a country, it seems like the average person I know does the tried and tested path of finish uni, get a job in London, get arsefucked for rent for the majority of your 20s and then use what money you have scraped together to get a deposit on a house near your parents and move back to your home town.

This is pretty common here too.
Move to a big city in your 20s because its fun, than ultimately go back to your home town or somewhere closer to settle down.

Only middle class whites and hispanics do this, poor people can't afford to move away, and rich people know better than to abandon family.

People are living at home for longer these days

No. The average millennial and zoomer can not afford to leave their parents house at 18.
Stop falling for retarded memes.

life without a family make no sense...

why did that dumb bitch get a tiddy reduction she just fat now

white boy

Yes

Or move out for uni, graduate, come back home and stay there for another 10 years

Yeah, I think this is based. Big cities suck lads

Only whiteoids.

t.22 year old chi that lives with his parents
