Where else would I live? Are you asking if I'm homeless?

I love how the housing market is that fucked in this country, that you are no longer seen as being a loser if you still live at home till 30.

Lived with friends for years, currently living with mum and brother again after a long story. But honestly the whole moving out thing is mostly an overrated meme. You're not really anymore independent than when you're living with your family; provided that you're not one of those leeches who pays and contributes nothing because it's your family. Living with friends completely shattered any illusions I had about how enjoyable the experience would/should/could be and now that I've been on both sides I can say it doesn't really matter what you do, as long as you can make whatever situation you're in work for you and those around you to some extent.

Yes, but I'm a mentally ill NEET.

Where should I live? In a caravan?

>Oh wow, he lives with his parents! What a loser sksksksksk!"

Sorry Stacy, but I can assure you that I am not the loser here. I have a fully furnished spacious room, my very own full bathroom, a fully functional kitchen, and to top it all off I don't even have to pay rent. The most that I ever have to do is help around the house, especially now that they're getting older and that they work 40+ hours a week. I keep the house, especially my own room, spotless.

I have a very wonderful relationship with my parents and they want me to save up my money so that eventually I'll be able to buy my own home and start a family of my own. Meanwhile you're paying $1000+ a month to live with roommates that you hate in a decrepit cramped apartment in the slums all because you couldn't get along with your parents. You work three jobs and your bank account is still in the red. The only times you call your parents is to beg for money. Your dishes are piling up both sinks. Your stove needs to be cleaned. Your room has dirty clothes are scattered across your floor. Your bed sheets are stained. Your sex toys are just sitting there uncleaned, out in the open. There's a copy of Infinite Jest on your bookshelf. Need I say more?

So who really is the loser? I think it is you, Stacy. Also you have ugly feet.

Assuming you're not just sponging off your family and actually contribute to the household, it's absolutely true. If you're living with other people you're doing it on some level to share the financial burden of living expenses; whether you're related to them or not. If you're mooching off your mum/dad/whatever then that's on you.

But my mom might have to move to my place when she is older and cant move any more.

why do american homes treat the garage as the main focal point of the house? your front door should be the most inviting part of the facade

29
No, lived at home until 21 and then moved out for college
