How do you tell apart from each other in the Balkans? Could you see a person´s face for 5 secs and tell me if they are bosnian or serbian or albanian or croatian?
John Thompson
yes
Blake Cruz
I can mostly tell if someone is Dalmatian or Bosnian. But I can't tell most Bosnians apart besides some Herzegovians who have a distinct look sometimes.
Albanians mostly look like north Africans but sometimes they can be blond or look Dinaric if they're from Kosovo.
Croats are in general all over the place.
Jaxon Allen
To a certain degree yes.
jutting jaw = serb
blocky skull = bosnian
narrow shoulders = slovenian
small eyes = macedonian
shoulders rolled forward = bulgarian
tall blonde, blue eyes = croat

There are barely any differences. They are all the same but brainwashed in a different way, which makes them think they are all different from eachother.

I don't understand why nationalists talk about muh 1000 year dream of independence one day, then welcome hungarians as brothers the next.
Juan Perez
I'm not familiar with the particular situation, but you can very feasibly aim for independence while promoting positive and mutually-beneficial close international relations.
David Hill
I'm not against reconciliation, just that it seems weird to me that *these* people are doing it, as usually nationalists would have the most hatred for former rulers. Imagine if black people in the US tried promoting the "Lost Cause" or flying a confederate flag - it's not that those ideas can't exist in a person's head, just that these people would seem the least likely to ever hold those ideas.
Liam Morales
I'm vaguely familiar with the history, but I've had conversations with a former Croatian nationalist, and he used to say that he supports Balkan solidarity and considers the friendship natural, and that Turkey is the most hated. He used to hate Serbs when he was younger, but he's been toying with pro-Yugo ideas lately, and he's been pro-reconciliation for longer than that. Based on the few conversations I've had about this with other Balkans, it seems a lot of them consider Balkan solidarity mutually beneficial, especially when considering that larger and more powerful nations pose a bigger threat to individual national autonomies. Also, don't forget that Hungary has a right-leaning government right now, and many people on the Right might see some inspiration in this. And this is just my personal opinion, but I think smarter nationalists realize that alliances are more useful than conflict, and each nation theoretically trying to work for the good of its own people doesn't axiomatically inhere detriment to others: Hungary to help Hungarians and Croatia to help Croatians, and neither hurting the other.
Gabriel Hughes
This is untrue, i am a bosnian born in croatia and i fucking hate it. Only boomers and capital cucks believe in nationalism

because they're idiots, these are the same people who wanted to seperate because muh nationality despite the economy doing very well

you wouldn't say the same thing about serbians, now would you?

There wasn't much ruling going on though. If I remember correctly, Croatian nobles governed the region without much interference, letting them as they pleased.
Hungary has been nothing but kind and benevolent to you. Austrians treated you like shit, yet you betrayed our trust and supported them during 1848 then got FUCKED for it.
Slav logic.
Joseph Campbell
>Hungary has been nothing but kind and benevolent to you.
See: Taking our entire fucking mainland, Károly Khuen-Héderváry, killing our remaining nobles by lieing to them
Please explain how austria was "worse" then your shithead ruling

Never heard of him

Or this. when?
>Please explain how austria was "worse" then your shithead ruling
They promised Croatia freedom. Did they deliver? No. They ignored you and made a pact with Magyars to create Austria-Hungary.
Croatia was never viewed as equal. They just needed Croats to wrestle Hungary into submission. Once that was done, back under the boot with you.
Ethan Williams
No, I'm Turkish and people mistaken me for a Croatian before

Tito was literally a croat

Speech is the easiest way to go. Looks are harder and often impossible, however, there are certain phenotypes that are common to certain regions. You can spot a Dinaric head a mile away. Dalmatians can look straight up Italians. Macedonians are kinda round-faced and friendly-looking with softer features. Slovenes are hard to categorise. It's also hard with Serbs and Croats, and a lot of people pass for both, but some Serbs do have a certain specific Serbian look, a swarthy tan and a recognisable facial structure. Northern Croats can also stand out from other Croats, because they have these round heads with a Pannonic Central-European look. Albanians can definitely stand out from Slavs, and the same goes for Greeks. Bulgarians are also more Turk-like than ex-Yugoslavia. Pic is what I consider to be one of classic Serbian phenotypes. A lot of Serbs straight up look like they came off a medieval Byzantine fresco.
But like I said, there are no rules or methods to figure it out, it's unconscious and intuitive.
Jack Clark
And that Tito wasn't exactly friendly with Italians, Germans and Hungarians. What that Croat poster fails to mention is that those ultranationalist Hungarians on that parade, the Jobbik party, like to jerk off to maps showing parts of Croatia being included into Hungary, making it ironic that Croatian ultranationalists march with them.
Josiah Sanchez
>that Turkey is the most hated
No one gives a shit about Turkey in Croatia. I'd going to that a guess that your dude there is diaspora who spents too much time deus vulting on Yas Forums. If anything, Croats are friendly to Turks, especially with all the Turkish soap operas that keep playing on TV.
Owen Hill
>the Jobbik party, like to jerk off to maps showing parts of Croatia being included into Hungary
It's historically accurate
Jace Scott
A map showing the borders of Nazi Germany in 1942 can also be historically accurate, but if you're waving it around during a march, you're sending a hostile message to Poles.
David Price
I like every one from the Balkans but the mudslims.
