Mexicans trust the cartels to enforce peace and order than the corrupt government in a lot of regions. The cartels provide food on the dinner table for countless small towns and villas while the government exploits the same towns and takes basic human needs from them because politicians are bribed obscene amounts of money to build nice apartment complexes elsewhere with the money that was supposed to go to the needy. The only thing i can see fixing Mexico is in violent revolution or if America stepped in and fixed things for them.
