Imagine a scenario like this: after years of peaceful talks between the UK and Argentina the Falklands/Malvinas start to accept immigrants from Argentina.
After 50 years there is a majority of Argentinians on the isles.
Another 50 years and the UK is getting less and less interested about them.
There is a referendum and the now overwhelming Argentinian majority votes to join the mainland.

Everybody is happy and Argentina has peacefully obtained the Malvinas in a little more than a century.
