The unfortunate reality for Canada is that we do need immigrants. There's a meat packing plant in my city that employs around 200 people, only about a dozen or so were born in Canada. I had a friend who worked there for a bit, and apparently the owner of the plant wishes he could hire local Canadians, but Canadians almost never apply. He hires locals whenever he can, but Canadians generally don't want to do these jobs, they see them as beneath them. As such, this plant has had to hire mostly poor immigrants who are willing to do the work.
And this isn't the only example of this. It happens accross the country.
Complain all you want about immigrants, but unless local Canadians become willing to work difficult, dirty manual labour jobs, we will need immigrants to keep our economy afloat.

In my opinion the conservatives probably would have won if Maxime Bernier was in charge. He would have been the only French Canadian leader of a major party, so he could have won a lot more of Quebec, while still winning the West and the more rural areas. Plus he had more of a personality than the ultra bland Andrew Scheer.
