I remember having this interaction with a guy on our first day of uni. He wanted us to guess where he was from. His English was really good, but my native ass could still make out the Slav in his tone, so I asked if he was Eastern European - he says no. Then I ask if Southern European - he says no. Other people ask if he's from Lebanon - obviously not. He then reveals that he's Polish, and I tell him that Poland is Eastern European. He furls his brows and goes 'Poland is in Central Europe' and everyone in the group laughs at me

We're too different from Eastern Slavs (Hungary of course is not counted as a Slav). Our relationship with Russia has been always filled with hatred from both sides. We do not use the Cyrillic alphabet, we're not Orthodox, we're all in European Union and we are also finally more modernized and technologically advanced than everyone past the eastern Polish border. We didn't want communism, it brought us only pain and suffering.
Geographically, the middle of the Europe is located in Poland so it is correct to say that this is Central Europe
