Gautama Buddha

This. Based pewd posters, rise up.

Etica Nicomachea was based, but fuck all his pseudo-'scientific' books, too much intellect wasted.

JUAN NEPOMUCENO ADORNO, NOT THEODOR ADORNO.

jordan b peterson

Politics and Poetics weren’t a waste. Fact is Aristotle’s writings are still relevant today. Plato not so much.

Plato set the basics of transcendence, later developed by Plotino and integrated in Christian Philosophy by Apologetic Fathers.

yes, and christians are retards
while aristotle's ideas are unsurprisingly outdated after 2300 years, many of his ideas have scientific character to them, making them much better than
>lol, what if ideas rofl

not philosophers, just retarded demagogues

Plato talked about some form of human eugenics in the Republic, also known as Myth of metals

fuck you

I've only ever read the apology and symposium by him. is the republic a worthwhile read?

Damn if it is. He even talks about music, rhythm, how they should be to form a good citizen.

Diogene il Cinico. The lad gave no fucks about anything.

Nietzche was good too but his annoying crybaby schtick annoys me.

Literally an incel.

philosophy is a waste of time

>Anglo education consists of disregarding Montaigne and thinking Lord Byron a philosopher

philosophy is for faggots. I only like Bertrand cos his name sounds funny

la rochefoucauld

Love Montaigne.

Bertrand is shit, he's only good for mathematics.

Saying anything other than plato is pure hipster contrarianism

I like Montaigne, Nietzsche and Spinoza best I think
La Rochefoucauld is nice too, when you read him you can see how much Nietzsche owe him

Why is it? I would agree that contemporary philosophy is definitely a second-rate, midwit hobby, but philosophy in the classic sense provides important groundwork for sciences, politics, ethics, law and so forth, therefore it is very important for every educated man to know it at least to a certain extent.
Bertrand was an educated, interesting person, but he was desperately chauvinistic and I am convinced that he worked for the intelligence service based on his rhetoric and how it evolved.

Parmenides

I somehow enjoyed his works with Whitehead, it was a nice answer to some logical issues

>plato says some forms of music should be banned to prevent society from becoming corrupted
>mfw jazz music
